My 2009 hood/bonnet release cable frayed at the hood release lever inside the car. I was able to use only the half of the cable from the engine compartment junction box to the release handle. Had to remove the plastic shield under the wipers and had to remove plastic panel on side under the dash and along the seat. They just pop off. Removed rubber dust guard from the old cable, duct taped the new cable to the old cable and gently pulled the new cable in place. Fit and quantum was perfect.
