The 4Js Post Mounting System has been sold Nationally for the past 18 years through wholesale lumber yards, stair parts suppliers, and Home Centers. In this time, the product has been field proven by professionals and amateurs alike. Both have commented on the ease-of-use and strength. Recently the 4Js System was re-engineered to provide an even stronger installation. Although there are other post hardware kits on the market (several of which try to imitate our product), none has been as widely accepted as the 4Js System. My newel post had worked loose over the years. This kit tightened them up for me. They were relatively easy to in stall.

I’m not sure why or how for that matter this product receives so many great reviews? I’ve been a contractor for roughly 18 years so and I know garbage when I see it. I basically paid $55 for L brackets and some trim I could’ve cut myself. Even after pre-drilling the holes, the screw heads would either snap off or stop halfway causing me to strip the crappy Phillips head, white metal screws. if you’re going to proudly engrave your name all over a product, make sure you provide adequate hardware as well!!

When we had oak floors installed, the MF contractor cut my post off instead of fitting around it, leaving a loose, wobbly mess, that could not be toenailed in or ever be tight.This kit fit perfect ( get the right one), and my post is now rock solid like it used to be when it was rabbited into the stair jack.Very good product!

Basically the only option we could find. Decent pricing,.comes with everything. We can't complain much. It is pretty good in our book. The only thing we wish was that it was prefinished. Oh well...all in all this was a great option for our loose newel post with no base trim - especially since we are trying to sell.
