Just received today and it works as I had hoped. Really good air flow to move air around in a large room. Normal noise for a fan that works this hard, but that doesn’t bother me. I wanted a fan with strong airflow and so far this one fits the bill.

Fan worked well for 6 months, running night and day, in my dry basement to disperse the heat coming off the boiler. But then ... quit. I guess if i look at the monetary cost of $10 a month it's good value - but now it goes to the landfill, and 6 months is too high an eviromental cost for me. I had to return the first one b/c it didn't run. I should have guessed right then that the quality would be marginal. I cannot recommend this fan to you. Giving 4 stars because I read the 4 star reviews for an honest review.

Surprised by its loudness, but this is a powerful, well-built fan. It makes a great garage or basement fan, with the ability to send air throughout a large space. Will definitely recommend it to anyone needing fan power.

This actually seems like a very high quality fan, suitable for use in a gym or a workshop, and moves an incredible amount of air. However, do not buy this fan if you're wanting a comfortable, soothing nighttime sound. It sounds like a propeller airplane engine. Even at the lowest setting, it's intolerably powerful. It's not just the amount of sound that can be a problem, but the type of sound. The sound is inconsistent, so you're constantly hearing it speed up and slow down due to electrical fluctuations of some sort. Also, even on the lowest setting, it will turn any normal-sized bedroom into a wind vortex.

This fan moves air very well. It seems well made. I won’t fib, it’s not quiet, but you can still get your tv heard over it without going nuts. The sound actually reminds me of the fan they had at my local public library’s Circulation Desk when I was a schoolgirl in Southern California; to me it’s a friendly nostalgic sound. It looks like it’ll last; I’ll come back here and update if it doesn’t (as several other quieter fans have not).

A lot of people complaining about the noise, in my opinion considering the power level of this fan, the noise is really not much of a problem. I have multiple plastics 20'' box fan, they all make louder noise than this one while the wind produced by them are just child play compare to this one. If you want a strong fan, that blows like the wild wind in the mountains, this is the one.

UPDATE: It’s been over 2 years and it’s still working! I love it!I use to have a 20” fan from another company that died within 3 months. It was EXTREMELY loud which didn’t bother me until watching tv. I received this one today and so far it is sooooo much better! I can hear my tv and feel the air across my room and it’s on low! Let’s hope it has a longer life than the last!
