This stylus does not work well with a SHURE V-15 Type III Cartridge on a Dual CS 721 turntable. Sounds very scratchy, might be an issue with the stylus itself

Type III did not work in my older type II. Looked good but was too loose fitting. Have ordered the type II and hope the new version works.

Have a Shure V15LT ... equiv to V15 III, narrow original stylus. It fits & works well, but I asked seller about fitment, got no reply. I asked about size to fit cartridge and my turntable / cover with really tight spacing. Stylus front width is 16.4 mm, old one was just 10.2. it just barely clears TT with cover closed.

I purchased this inexpensive stylus assembly just to test my ancient Shure V15 type III cart body, which had no stylus, to see if both channels still output before spending several hundred dollars on a microridge stylus assembly. I was not at all expecting a sound on par to my Shure V15V-MR; but, that's what I got. Now, I question spending more for the stylus assembly I was originally considering, since this stylus assemble seems to get all that's in the groove to get: nuanced details, black as coal backgrounds, and more for a CD like sound signature. In other words, I like it a lot. My only reservations are the stylus shaft fits somewhat loosely to the cart and there are no instructions to advise on proper tracking force. Also, testing resonance peak and anti-skating via a Shure Audio Obstacle Course Test LP, The resonance peak at about 9 Hz was jumpy, like stylus out of the groove jumpy, and the anti-skate adjustment produced a very raspy but equal raspy tone from both channels when set to the tracking force of 1.5 grams.

Prompt shipment from NeedleDaddy. Reasonably priced. Still evaluating with Shure test record that came with original cartridge over 47 years ago. Initial sounds are great. On Thorens TD160 turntable, would highly suggest you treat as first time cartridge installation per manufacturer's manual:1.re-balance tone arm with counterweight adjustment 2.re-calibrate anti skating and tracking forces to 1-1/4 (1.25) gms. elliptical stylus. NO NEED TO REMOVE MOUNTING SCREWS. Swab the 4 contact wires with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to remove built up oxidation. Make sure pivoting guard protects stylus and in order to keep your "fat fingers" off the needle. ENJOY MANY YEARS OF MUSIC.

After my previous stylus started dying, I looked for good reviews and found this inexpensive replacement. Excellent results as all of the highs and lows that were breaking up on the faulty one are not doing this and the transparency and crispness is restored. Highly recommend. Thanks
