I've been using the CD drive for last few months now. It still works nicely. I love it. The ad says that I should be able copy: CDR, CDRW, and DVDRW (-), but I have only been tested regular CDRs (which is the only thing I wanted). It's flawless. I hope one day, I can copy something into my blank CDRWs and DVDRW. For now, I only use CDRs anyway. If you have a Dell 3880 desk top, it works for this Dell DVDRW drive.

Product itself was fine, in perfect condition as far as I could visibly tell, no damage whatsoever, nice and shiny, but it was not long enough for my Dell Inspiron 15 3542. Doesn't make much sense being that this is the same product listed as a replacement on the Dell site. Measured it and the dimensions listed were not the same as measurements I got. Also, the piece that helps lock the drive in place, the little metal piece thats screwed onto the drive and that the screw goes into from the back of the laptop, was not compatible with my laptops design. It was too long and in the wrong spot. So there was no locking it in place unless you have the pieces from your previous drive. It looked to be the same piece as my current drive from the picture but it wasn't.
