I bought this item to match the one I lost. The bright line cat is good but it is really bright, compared to old cat I used to have, for counting cells. For blood cells might be more appropriate because of the contrast but in my case, epithelial cells were too transparent and was difficult to discriminate I had to adjust the focus and de-focus in every block.

Under microscope on one of the squares you can see a very distinctive scratch near one of the lines. Still works fine but I would accept that from a product selling for 20-30 US/D., not from a Hemacytometer of almost 100 US/D.
