I bought this modem to replace my rented Xfinity device, hoping for a smooth transition. Unfortunately, my activation experience was anything but easy. While others seem to have activated theirs seamlessly, mine was a frustrating ordeal. I first tried activating it through the Xfinity app, but it kept failing. I had to resort to using Xfinity’s live chat to get assistance from an agent. The entire process took nearly two hours— even the agent admitted it was unusually long.Once activated, I tested my connection speed. I’m on Xfinity’s 300 Mbps download / 100 Mbps upload plan, and I tested via a direct RJ-45 cable (not Wi-Fi). The download speed was great, slightly above 300 Mbps, which is expected since my plan is the limiting factor. However, when I checked the upload speed, I was shocked—it showed only 6 Mbps! That’s ridiculously slow compared to my previous Xfinity rental, which could easily reach 100 Mbps.I’m keeping this modem because I don’t have heavy upload needs, and the cost savings will cover the purchase price in about seven months. But honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to others. Maybe I got a bad unit, and yours will be fine—but consider this review a heads-up before buying.

This is an exceptional cable modem and replaced our cox hardware. Installation is simple and straight forward.This device out performs stock hardware in every way. The signal quality is very stable, speeds are above normal and stable. This device will also save you from paying those pesky rental fees for sub par hardware. It pays for itself over time and offers you a better overall experience with your network.Win, win, win.

Bought this to replace seven-year-old modem - works as advertised. Fast, reliable, easy to set up, no issues after a month of use.Xfinity setup was fairly easy once I figured out, you had to do it from the Xfinity app. I am hitting speeds of just under 1 Gpbs - which is Internet speed.Overall good value and performance - highly recommended

I loath Comcast/Xfinity, I hate having only one option for 1G+ internet besides ATT which is another horrible company. Multiple times a year we have some issue with Xfinity and my internet speed falls below 10mbs. The modem router combo is weak and I have mesh system throughout my house to provide internet throughout.I purchased Net Gear router and TP-link WiFi router to beef things up. I was scared about installation and the dreaded Xfinity customer service I would need to deal with. This router was easy, all online, no call to X and no issues.Speed is over a gig and no one complaining about buffering or glitches. Love it!

I've been using this modem for a while now and it has been a solid and dependable unit. Since I bought my first NG router, I've been nothing but impressed with the day to day performance and the modem turned out to be just as dependable.The install was a snap including calling in to my cable company to identify the router and connect to it.I can't really speak to issues with customer service because in the years since I've had NG products in my home, I've never needed tech support.

Installation was easy. At first it was resetting 3-4 times a day like my previous surfboard modem. I started reporting the outages each time through the xfinity automated app. Don't waste your time talking to xfinity, it's a waste of time. After I saw a tech do something at a junction box down the street, my connection has stayed stable. We have multiple devices using the Internet all day long including a smart tv going 8 hours a day plus macs, ipads, pc's , nest thermostat, home security cameras, and cell phones using wifi calling through our older netgear Nighthawk router which is connected to this cable modem. No speed issues although sometimes the xfinity app shows our home offline when Internet is working fine.
