Replaced an antiquated combo modem/router with a new cable modem and a new router. The nighthawk RAX54S was the perfect solution for wifi. No more dead spots in our near 3000 foot home, even the garage!! Super simple set up. Easy to use nighthawk app that gives me all the control I need and more.

I noticed an instant different when I changed from my old router to this new nighthawk. It took less than 5 minutes to set up. The app is super helpful and has a lot of great features to keep up on the connection and devices connected. I can work from home, stream a movie for my toddler, and my husband game all at the same time with no lag at all. I highly recommend and am so happy we can use the internet speed we are paying for.

Our installer said that this is the router that he is seeing most people use. Easy installation and everything is working amazing. Much better then our one from AT&T. This router has been able to keep up with our service no matter how many devices we have running.

I’m embarrassed to say we had a very old firewall router that was “not going to be serviced” anymore starting this year. At the same time, I’m texting my husband telling him our internet company is the worst because it’s as slow as dialup and I couldn’t even watch a video on my phone without it buffering! After we finally put two and two together, we bought this thing, it came same day! and it is amazingly fast and reliable!!! Easy set up and we regularly get 800-900mbps in the living room where we used to get 140mbps and 300mbps in the far back of the house in our bedroom where we used to get zero. I did have to learn why we randomly get 600mbps in the living room and 140mbps in the back of the house due to busy internet usage times by neighbors, but other than that, this thing has been outstanding.

I'm very happy with the router as a router. Using the app the installation was very easy. My download speed increased from 90 Mps with the old Netgear Router to 590 Mps with this one. Problem is that I cannot get ReadyShare to work. Talked to multiple technicians at Netgear and no one had an answer. Readyshare on this router works fine with 3 other PCs that were previously connected to my old router. I have a new HP PC that will not connect. I can't be the first person that this has happened to but technical support doesn't have a clue.

Their app provides good step-by-step installation instructions. If I recall though, they didn't state when to power on the router. (I think turning it on before you start its app is probably a good time to do it.) Also, at the step when it's checking for access to the internet, it wasn't finding it, until after I reset my modem. (I have a Spectrum/Motorola modem and the router is model RAX70.) I think it should tell you to reset the modem before it checks for internet access.I was happy that they had a step where I could change the name and password of the router from the factory settings, which I did do.After installation I started figuring out how to monitor the devices connected to my router using the app. Its default identifications were okay, but I learned that I could edit the name and icon to be more accurate or what I liked better.I had a problem with the connection my wireless Canon printer made to the router. The way I had initially done it was by using the WPS button on the router. Since the printer wasn't reconnecting to the router when I would turn the printer back on, I tried making the wireless connection "manually" by going through the printer menu, searching for the router name and typing in the router password. Thankfully, that's been working for me.

If you have an existing router and it's just not doing what you expected (even if you paid a ridiculous amount of money for it), replacing it with this one is a snap. It took me all of 15 minutes to physically connect to ethernet, set up the router through the app, rename, unplug the old router, and I was up and going. Very simple. Just named the new router the same as the old one with the same password and all my devices seamlessly reconnected with the exceptional speed I should have been getting from fiber optic. It's got a smaller footprint, less breakable antennae, though not as many ethernet ports. I'm okay with that because I have a hub. 10/10 recommend this device for surfing, gaming, browsing, Echo/Alexa use, video surveillance cameras, and so much more.
