This swaddle sack is well designed, appears warm through the torso, but also has a nice breathable mesh fabric around the edge of the arms. We are expecting a baby girl in just about a month and ordered this in a 3-6 month size, so we won't be able to fully use it until then, but I will update this review if we run into any issues! In the meantime we really appreciate the functionality of this swaddle. You can unzip the arm sections to either open them or completely remove them, and you can also decide whether or not to place your baby's arms inside the internal swaddle section. Just a heads up, though, that you cannot remove that internal swaddle band, so it will always need to be placed around your baby's torso at a minimum.

The material that this is made of is incredibly soft and stretchy! It’s not too thick and seems pretty breathable for baby. The arms are easy to attach and detach and I like that they have the mesh. Not a lot of sleep sacks like this have that. The size seems true to size for the age point. My daughter just turned 7 months and is definitely on the verge of not fitting in this much longer. We use it with the arms off. I am disappointed though that this did not have the weighted beans in the egg logo like most of their products do. The listing does not specify if it’s weighted or not and I would assume most people would think it is. I think that needs to be clarified in the listing so people aren’t getting a product that is not what they think they’re buying. Overall great quality but I think it’s a high price point especially if it’s not weighted.

The swaddle works alright, but the whole reason I bought this brand was for the “cuddle pad”, ie the weighted part that mimics mama’s hold. This version does NOT have that. I didn’t even know Nested Bean made versions of their swaddles without the weighted part. When I realized it didn’t have it (admittedly it took me a couple weeks due to sleep deprivation and new baby chaos), I came here to check the listing and saw that the description does say “now without cuddle pad!”, which is when I learned the weighted part is called the cuddle pad, ha. Had it been more clear in the listing I wouldn’t have bought it, and if I’d realized it sooner before using it I would’ve returned it. Without the weighted part, this swaddle isn’t worth the price. There are other swaddles on the market that have the inner straps to keep baby’s arms in place (like this one) that are much higher quality. My baby was at the lowest end of the weight limit for this swaddle when we got it and I struggled to make the Velcro ends meet when wrapping it around her. I stopped using it when I realized it didn’t have the cuddle pad because I have another swaddle with the inner arm straps that works much better (the sleep pea).

This is a bit of a read, but I’m kind of obsessed with swaddles and tried to really break down why I like this one so hopefully it’s worth your time!I don’t often leave Amazon reviews, but I felt like I needed to because of how strongly I felt about this swaddle and because there were almost no reviews when I bought it. My love of all things swaddle is driven by my love of all things sleep. Maybe I’m wired a little differently than other folks, but I basically can’t operate my own body, let alone avehicle, when I’m sleep-deprived. Necessity may be the mother of invention… but this mother needs her sleep. This has taught me an important lesson: You can never have too many swaddled. I think I’ve tried just about everything out there—Love to Dream, Halo, Merlin, SwaddleMe, etc. I’ve also gotten multiple swaddles from this company in the past and typically stuck with their more “standard” swaddle. But with baby #3, I gave the “ZenOne Air” version a shot.Game. Changer. I haven’t bought another type of “early” swaddle from any other company since. And by “early,” I mean from birth until they start to roll over—around six months for my kiddos. Why?Long story short: When it comes to swaddling, some babies love being snug with their arms down, while others fight it and prefer their arms up.My first baby slept well in an arms-down type swaddle, but my second absolutely hated it. That’s when I started experimenting with different types and discovered that some babies do better in an arms-up design. As I mentioned above, I’ve basically been through them all at this point. Not only is this the only swaddle I’ve found that actually works well for both arms-up and arms-down, but this one actually is better at both up AND down than the ones that only do one or the other. Here’s why:Arms DownWhen I think about the classic “swaddle,” I think about wrapping my baby up like a burrito with their arms at their sides. You can do this with a regular blanket, or a “formed” version like Halo or SwaddleMe, which are made to keep the baby in that position. The zen one is better in my opinion because:1. Sleeker, Less Bulky Design – Traditional swaddle wraps like Halo can get bulky around the arms and chest. The Zen One Air's wrap is much more streamlined, which looks better and feels more comfortable.2. Temperature Control – Because the wrap is inside the sack, you can zip or unzip the wings to adjust for warmth or airflow. That’s not an option with traditional swaddles.3. Softer Fabric – The material on this one is next-level soft. Much gentler on baby’s skin.4. More Secure Fit – One issue I had with traditional swaddle wraps is that if the baby fights hard enough and/or the Velcro wears out, they can loosen the wrap. With this one, since the wings are part of the sack, that won’t happen.Arms UpAfter baby #2 rejected the arms-down approach, I researched and found out about the Moro reflex—basically, babies are used to keeping their arms up in the womb, and restricting them too much can make them uncomfortable. The problem? If their arms are completely free, they startle themselves awake. Swaddles like Love to Dream were designed to allow arms up while still limiting movement enough to prevent wake-ups.This was a solid choice and it worked well, but when I tried the Zen One Air, I noticed some differences that made all the difference.1. More Arm Freedom – The design of the Zen’s wings allows for more movement than Love to Dream. The arm openings are larger, and there’s a small pocket underneath where the baby’s arm can rest. This might seem minor, but trust me—it makes a huge difference. Baby #3 was able to move naturally while still feeling snug.2. Better Airflow – The top of the wings is made of mesh, which means better breathability. If your baby runs warm, this is a lifesaver.3. Wing Fabric – Babies love to suck on their hands, which makes the area of fabric at the top of the wing wet. The Zen One Air’s mesh dries much faster than the cotton version, so it doesn’t stay damp and uncomfortable. While I did spend a lot of time talking about why this is good, I did also want to be fair and talk about what I didn’t like so much.1. Fabric Options – As of when I wrote this, I think there is only one option for thickness of fabric. I’d like to be able to at least consider a thinner version (or maybe bamboo?) for summer.2. Price – It’s by no means the most expensive swaddle, but it’s also not the cheapest swaddle out there either. I get that it’s basically 2 swaddles in one, but still in today’s economy… Pro Tip on this: Put multiples on your baby registry if you’re reading this and you’re a newly expecting momma or poppa. Plus, I think Amazon gives you a 10% discount on anything on your registry that isn’t bought as a gift. Every dollar helps. If you’re on the fence, just get it. You’ll thank yourself at 2 AM when your baby is sleeping soundly, and so are you. And if you made it all the way to the bottom of this review, congrats, you’re on your way to a fully fledged swaddle obsession like me.

We love this for our baby. She fits in it well and since it contains her arms so snug, she doesn’t accidentally wake herself up throughout the night.

Works very well. We had a slight issue, and customer support responded very quickly and worked with us to find a viable solution. Highly recommend any of their products!

The sleep sack had a hole at the mesh - absolutely not acceptable. We only noticed once our little one’s finger got stuck in it and she started crying.Very disappointed considering the price of the product.

I absolutely love this brand of sleep sack and bought maybe 6-7 of them before gettingthis one, but I was a little confused when it arrived and it didn’t have the “cuddle pad”(AKA the thing that adds theweight to the swaddle). I reached out to them to see whatwas going on and they said that it was designed to be a lighter option than the original. Iended up really liking this version but it wasn’t super clear (to me) that this was differentso I wanted to leave a review on Amazon so other people saw it. That being said – ifNested Bean reads this, maybe try to make it more clear that this is different? Thanks!
