This would have been my preferred 6-20 socket to 15-50 converter. IF, the 6-20 plug was a right angle plug. The straight plug does not fit in my exterior outlet box. So I returned this one, and kept one I liked a little less from a weather POV, because it had a right angle plug

Excellent quality adapter. Please note this is not a NEMA 5-20P but rather a 6-20P. You can use this if you have a 6-20P 240v dryer plug and you need to convert it to a NEMA 14-50R to charge an EV. As the description states, it will not work with a NEMA 20 amp 5-20P outlet.

This adapter is excellent. Well-made and would work perfectly if I only knew a bit more about the NEMA designation.I've learned a bit with this purchase. Insure you know what you are buying. There is nothing at all wrong with this adapter cable. I did not read closely enough. This is a 6-20P, NOT the 5-20P that I thought I was ordering. The 6-20P is a 240-volt connector. The 5-20P is a 120-volt connecter is the one I needed. Please note the differences in the image I uploaded. The horizonal blade is on opposite sides for the 120volt vs the 240volt plug.
