NEKTON-BIOTIN (formerly Nekton-Bio)

Protein-enriched food supplement to ensure good feather growth and help prevent plumage defects

After years of research and experiments we developed NEKTON-BIOTIN to meet certain problems in a bird’s plumage and to ensure proper feather growth in all birds.

Supplement to quickly grow bright, strong feathers

NEKTON-Biotin helps birds molt smoothly and regrow feathers. It contains all the necessary vitamins, amino acids, minerals, trace elements, and a substantial amount of biotin. NEKTON-Biotin also promotes shiny feathers in birds. Poor nutrition is often the main cause of plumage damage in birds. A diet rich in protein is crucial for maintaining a beautiful plumage. Birds also need enough vitamins, minerals, and trace elements to keep their metabolism functioning properly. During molting, birds may experience protein deficiency, vitamin and mineral imbalances, which can lead to health issues. NEKTON-Biotin has been specially formulated to address these issues and balance the amino acid ratios, often found to be less than optimal, in plant-based, commercial bird foods. It is recommended not to use any other vitamin supplements while using NEKTON-Biotin. NEKTON-Biotin is easy to administer via drinking water or soft feed because it dissolves quickly in cold water.

Contains 18 amino acids

How to feed:

To use NEKTON-Biotin, dissolve 1 gram (1 level spoonful of the included spoon) of it in 250 milliliters (8.45 fl. oz.) of water or 100 grams (3.53 oz) of soft food. It's best to prepare only the amount of water or food that the bird will consume in a day and replace it daily. Each enclosed measuring spoon holds 1 gram (0.035 ounces) of NEKTON-Biotin.

For severe plumage damage, you can give a double or triple dose of NEKTON-Biotin until the bird begins forming new feathers. Then switch back to the regular dose until the new feathers are fully formed.

Because NEKTON-Biotin has higher levels of vitamin D and trace elements than complete feeds, it should make up no more than 5% of the bird's daily diet.

Storage:

NEKTON-Biotin should be stored dry and out of sunlight, between 15° and 25° C (59° and 77° F). DO NOT STORE IN THE FRIDGE !!!

I have used this product or similar off and on over 30 years. Works like a charm. Don't put to much on. I prefer to sprinkle it on things I add to the pellet diet that has moisture. Otherwise it just falls off.

Nekton always trusted source. These vitamins are a good option for bolstering vitamins needed for molting.

I got this product for my conure and was disappointed. The only reason for the third star is that everything arrived as described. However, my bird does not find yellow-powder this appealing. The powdered biotin does not mix in with the water like the directions say, but rather it sinks to the bottom. I can never if she really consumed any of the biotin because of this. It will end up being a daily/weekly waste because I am tired of constantly remixing and giving my pet stale water.

Bought when I got a baby tiel that had been plucked badly by his parents. His feathers all came in beautifully!! Now I use during the dreaded moulting periods. Happy with Nekton products as always

I tasted this myself and it has a lightly fruity flavor. It does not thicken the water. This product has really helped my Cockatiel, Quaker, and budgies through the process of molting. This season has been really hard on my Quaker. He is 2 years old and has been molting for a long time. But now I feel confident that he has all the vitamins and minerals that he needs to stay healthy. I only use this a couple times a week.

I have a 1.5 year old Caique. After 6 months of owning her she started barbering her feathers around December/January. She was very uncomfortable obviously. I took her to an avian vet, after $500 they told me she was in molt and probably just didn't like her situation (itchy), gave me an anti-histamine to give her. My house has a whole home humidifier so I was like what the heck? I tried a lot of things, direct humidification, etc..Started giving her Nekton Bio in Feb. She was back to FULL plumage in April, no more barbering. Well, made the mistake of not starting this in December, same thing happened this year. I really really try with her diet but there is something that gives her a boost with this supplement. She sprouts new pin feathers all over and I see less and less feathers around after a couple weeks. I suggest you try it if your bird has issues like this. It's a little pricey but I think worth it. I soak a small unsalted cracker in water and spread a little on it. She eats the whole thing like it's her job. I think it is better than putting in her water.

I have been using this product from December 2019 to today and I can say that it actually works very well my parrots are seen with a more vivid and colorful plumage, they also grow their feathers faster and help them a lot with the molt. I'll buy one more for this coming December so that my parakeets are so healthy

I use this stuff in my flock of three every day. Sprinkle a little on their wet food.I first started using this when my Macaw was sick. We went to our Avian vet, she treated the illness. After she was cured and off the daily meds, the vet said that she recommended Nekton Bio for her.She especially recommended it for our little Senegal we adopted. She had done a bit of plucking, due to her previous living conditions. She had no toys or proper socialization. Our Avian vet said sock it to her with the Nekton Bio. Which we did.She stopped plucking and where the follicles weren't damaged she got her feathers back. She still has a bald spot around her neck area that will never grow back. I have to also add that she, since we brought her home, has plenty of stimulus to keep her busy. She has a bigger play area than my macaw!! and she uses it all!!! Ask your vet before using.
