I bought this and an asphalt blade and found this one had a tendency for clay to stick. The asphalt blade actually worked better for me. The price is reasonable for a blade that will last.

Puede funcionar mejor o peor dependiendo del martillo compresor, para tierra sin piedras va bien, aunque el peso del conjunto no es muy "accesible" para cualquiera.

Had to dig a substantial trench in hardpan and clay. This little shovel made the job easy.

It was not clear to me if this shovel bit would be 100% compatible with my old Hitachi PH65 jack hammer. Happy to say it fits and works well. The soil conditions on my property are not ideal, mostly clay with chunks of rock. The shovel gets the job done.

Bought this to break up harden clay. It will break it up with ease. Nothing else to say other than it works just fine.

Originally bought this to dig a small trench in some hard soil but used this to break up the cement in the bottom of the pool. Excellent quality and no noticeable wear after breaking the entire pool bottom.

I have a backyard that is full of hard clay. Hard dense clay that has been baked in the Arizona sun.My yard also had a lot of concrete chunks the builders buried under the hard clay.I decided to cultivate the ground and transform into a pleasant space of grass, trees, and shrubbery.I could not make progress because of the hard clay and large concrete chunks.Bought a demo hammer and this spade and took the yard to task. This shovel rocks! As in breaks hard clay and giant concrete chunks.Got a lot of work done. Quickly. The demo hammer is heavy. The spade is heavy. But it gets the job done. My 14 year old son loved using it as well.

As far as I can tell, it's well made, durable and works well with my jackhammer. Please keep in mind that I only used it once for a couple of holes for some fence post. It took the dirt out with relative ease. I look forward to using it again and giving a further update.

The first thing that I did not like when I opened the package was that the shovel size was smaller than I had expected. Then the true test happened...I own a HFT lightweight jackhammer (approx retail cost = $350.00) The bit size is 1 1/8" when I tried to fit this new shovel bit into the shank receiver the shovel bit was to big for the receiver. If it had fit (which it did not) the locking notch on the side of the shovel bit was cut 22.5 degrees off from the actual bits that do fit my jackhammer. So I could of made this bit fit, by grinding all of the shank faces down and then grind the receiving notch larger so the shovel would fit properly. But all that work would diffidently void any warranty. So I am sending this shovel bit back and I am going to keep shopping until I find the right size bit.

Very please so far with this particular spade. The neck of the space (shaft portion) seems stronger than the first spade I purchased. I've been digging up clay and earth with this spade for about two months now. Seems to be working well.

I bought this to use with my XtremepowerUS Demolition Jack Hammer. The shaft and notch fit with no issues. I used it to break up hard packed clay full of small surface roots. My original plan was to rototill the trench and then shovel it out. The tiller would hardly scratch the surface. After breaking 2 shear pins I gave up on the tiller. I was able to break up the hard pack easily with this spade bit. Then go back to the original plan to till it and shovel out. This is the widest spade or chisel bit I could find. An 8, 10 and 12" width version would be nice.

I bought this clay spade instead of the Makita 751604-8 because it was a fraction of the price and according to the measurements it looked like it should fit without modification and it did. I just spent a day digging trenches in rock and clay and it was much faster and easier than using the chisel point bit that I've used for the last 20 years. At this price I'm kicking myself for not buying one years ago.
