I've been testing the Neewer Z2-S speedlight on my Sony a6100 and am running into some frustrating issues. In TTL mode, the flash compensation seems off, with +0.3 and +3 settings producing the same output. More critically, in manual mode, the flash consistently fails to sync unless my shutter speed is slowed way down to 1/4, regardless of the power setting. I'm also seeing sync issues in TTL when using the zoom function at 28mm or wider, unless, again, the shutter is at 1/4. These problems make it hard to recommend this flash, especially for users needing consistent and reliable performance.---Update changed my 1 stare to 4I've been testing the Neewer Z2-S speedlight on my Sony a6100, and after receiving a replacement, everything is working as expected! TTL mode now provides accurate flash output, and manual mode syncs properly across various shutter speeds. Even when using the zoom function at 28mm or wider, the flash operates smoothly without any issues.I also want to highlight the seller’s exceptional customer service. While my first unit had some issues—likely due to a manufacturer error—the seller acted quickly to resolve the situation. They were extremely helpful and responsive, making sure I received a fully functional replacement as soon as possible. While there may be some inconsistencies in quality control from the manufacturer, the seller is doing everything they can to ensure customers get a working product. Their support and willingness to help made all the difference in my experience.

I wanted to love this flash. It has all the features I'm looking for to take excellent macro shots. Unfortunately, it doesn't communicate properly with Sony cameras. First, the flash will only output the lowest power setting when using a manual lens. Serious macro photographers usually use manual lenses like the Laowa 2x Ulta Macro (that's what I've got.). This flash is completely useless for this purpose. On my A7R IV the flash will only work with autofocus lenses and even then it's not reliable. When I used this on my Sony a6700 (the apsc flagship) the flash doesn't communicate properly and liveview won't activate which leaves you with a super dark screen/viewfinder. This makes it impossible to properly focus. This is with autofocus lenses. With manual lenses you can forget about this flash functioning properly at all. Sometimes I can't even get this flash to fire at all with manual lenses. I'm not sure what the issue is but Neewer needs to address this with a major firmware update ASAP.

This speedlight is an impressive tool for photographers looking to take their lighting setup to the next level. The UI is very intuitive, and switching between modes is incredibly fast and convenient. The brightness and consistency of the light are excellent, delivering soft and natural results with minimal effort. What really stands out is the versatility. The rotating and tilting head makes it easy to get creative with light angles, and the built-in modeling lamps are a nice touch for fine-tuning setups. The wireless control options and high-speed sync capabilities are also a huge plus, especially for on-the-go shoots. The battery life is solid, and the fast recycling time means you’re not left waiting between shots. It’s clear this flash is designed with both convenience and performance in mind. Whether you’re working in a studio or out in the field, this is a fantastic addition to any photographer’s gear.

The flash feel very solid, made out of good plastic. the button feels great and the display is very nice. I like the M/TTL mode on the side that can let you easily switch without going into the Menu. Talking about the menu, it's very easy to understand if you are a regular Flash photographers. So far it did not misfire on my Sony A7IV. the tel mode is quite accurate, The Flashes is at the warmer side then the Sony. I hope they can fix it in the firmware. over all I like the flash especially the price. I can get 3 for 1 original price.recommended

Ok just wanted to make a stupid title but this flash is pretty wonderful. Zero latency in wireless mode, connects to all 3 of my triggers no problem and groups with all of my other flashes with ease. Bright and great coverage.

This flash unit works flawlessly with my Canon EOS R6. No issues at all. Really enjoying the battery that comes with it and it last much longer. No more AA batteries. The quality feel much higher end product. I really also like that I could use a dome with it. The light unit comes in handy as well. Overall this is a very good flash unit for the price. No complaints at all.

I’ve worked with all the common flashes, this flash is awesome. I started working events more often and was looking for something to hold me down for medium to low ceilings. The power on this is great! About 5 hours of constant use. The swappable batteries lets me work for hours. They charge fairly fast when paired with an anker wall plug.Easy to use system, fast, and reliable.

I am really surprised at the quality of this flash. It feels very high-end. The materials and the build quality are great. It has a lot of features, some that I don’t even know how to use. It’s very powerful and the battery last a surprisingly long time. The roundhead produces very even lighting. It works well with my Canon camera. It puts out a lot of power. It is not compatible with Godox wireless triggers, but it will work with other Neewer flashes. It works with TTL and e-TTL for cameras that do a pre-flash for their TTL readings. All in all this is a great flash and a great value for the money. I highly a recommend it.
