This device makes for an easy method to swap your cameras orientation from landscape to portrait. I have it mounted to the NATO portion (left side) of my camera cage and the ARCA plate lets me swap orientation with ease between the cages ARCA and this. You can also use the ARCA plate on its own which improves the functionality of this kit. Neewer continues to impress me with both the quality of their offerings and the ingenuity of their accessories. I have so many Neewer accessories at this point even my wife is familiar with the brand.

Another solid piece of gear from Neewer. Really pleased with the products they've been putting out lately. Really nice machined aluminum. Perfect little piece of gear to attach cold shoes to an arca head. Nice job!

Another interesting and useful accessory from the ever-inventive folks at Neewer. Basically, this attachment accessory includes an Arca style QR plate and a NATO clamp married together. As such, they can be used together or separately. Used together, they can be fastened as a unit to anything that has a NATO rail, for instance, in the example Neewer shows, a camera cage for quick switches between a horizontal and vertical orientation. Or, on the other hand, again paired, an ARCA QR plate can be paired with any accessory or device to which a NATO rail is attached, for example a mobile phone cage, thereby allowing the phone to be steadied by a tripod or gimbal incorporating a NATO clamp.Separated, the user has a spare ARCA QR plate and a 1/4" threaded NATO clamp that can be attached to an accessory or device with a 1/4" screw, which can then be fastened to anything utilizing the appropriate NATO rail. In the end, there are innumerable uses for the Neewer adapter, both as a discreet unit and separately, as two distinct accessories.The QR plate has a rubberized platform to prevent abrasions, a 1/4" screw and, conveniently held magnetically under the plate, a key for tightening/loosening the set screw. A spare 1/4” attachment screw is also included. The plate can be attached with one screw through its center track, or using both screws through the two side channels. The NATO clamp has a pullout knob so that it can be disengaged and reoriented when needed.Be advised that this adapter does not include a NATO rail.

Neewer is beginning to lose favor with me as are a lot of these camera accessory makers. They all don’t seem to be making things that are universally compatible or even compatible with other easy to find accessories. I buy an arm for my gimbal but the gimbal arm isn’t compatible with the strap that attaches to the gimbal meaning why should I buy the arm or the strap, or with the NATO fittings on my cage that are too narrow to attach to their own NATO fittings. Rosette fittings that don’t fit with their own rosette fittings. It seems like the companies would make parts that fit with any of the other parts sold on Amazon since there aren’t many of them making the parts like say… cable makers. I just get sick of buying and returning parts with zero compatibility with their own brand and others. So I guess I need to find a Neewer full-sized nato rail because their PA074 and 73 cage with the nato attachment don’t fit together. Maybe they should’ve sold this as a complete set with the part it is compatible with. This will be great if I had other Neewer NATO products that this was compatible with, but if you do, this is a solid piece. It still has a clamp that slides closed way better than another brands NATO clamp I tried that wouldn’t stay tight.

Attached it to a cage for a Sony A1 to make quick switches to portrait orientation easy. Works perfectly. The fact that you can disconnect the components just adds to the possibilities.
