Nice little addon for A7C II camera. Very low profile but adds ARCA mounting options, and additional strap loop. Provides a basic protection on the base of the camera. Can access the battery without removing the plate. Nothing fancy about it, but good enough for some basics features. No issues at all.

I bought this and the SmallRig Silver grip that looks exactly like this for my Sony A7C II. This one was ok but I preferred the grip and texture and fit of the SmallRig version. It was just less slippery and seemed to fit my hand better. This one didn't seem to extend the camera in the same way. It's a subtle difference, but side by side it was noticeable. I can't say how this would compare to the black SmallRig grip, but I preferred the slight texture on the silver. This would probably work for you just fine if you get it on sale and the price difference is really important.

Excellent quality product that functions as designed.Fits the Sony A7CII/CR perfectly.Works as advertised to always have Arca tripod mount attached.It does give you a place to put your pinky finger.Battery door is unaffected with spring loaded door that allows to change battery with ease.Recommend

I'm having a lot of fun with the Neewer cage for my Sony a7cii. I added a handle which makes it very portable plus more stable with long lenses.

Over time, dust tends to seep in between the Alpha logo and the cage, which can lead to scratches on your A7C. Use with caution.

I've been very happy with this Baseplate from NEEWER. IT fits the Sony A7C II perfectly. Very snug and adds just enough bulk to give you some extra grip, without being too bulky. You're able to access the battery compartment without needing to remove the baseplate, you just extend the battery access piece and you're able to open the battery compartment without issue. I like that the little installation key is integrated into the plate itself with magnets, so you'll always have the tool yo need to secure and remove this. 100% would recommend.

What I like about this base plate:1) It fits my A7cII really well. It also enhances the handling of the camera. I could just leave it on the camera going forward2) The design of the latch for battery door has a locking mechanism. You need to pull and turn to open it. You cannot just turn like Smallrig's similar products.3) The little wrench comes in handy. It is magnetic so it can stick to the base plate by itself.

This Neewer baseplate fits my A7Cr really well and adds an Arca plate on the bottom while also giving me just a little bit more grip for my pinky finger. The grip on the A7Cr and A7CII is just a hair too small for my hands and while it is usually not a problem, having this baseplate on my camera adds just enough vertical height to get my full grip on the camera but doesn't add a lot of bulk. My camera came with a grip but it's much taller and doesn't have an Arca plate on the bottom, so getting a quick release plate would mean adding even more height and bulk. I really like this baseplate because it accomplishes two things while keeping the size and weight of the A7CII / A7CR down so it stays as portable as it was intended. My only gripe / complaint / wish is that this also worked with the quick release systems like Peak Design and / or PGYTECH. If it worked with those, it would be perfect. I haven't seen one that does yet, and I can modify my Peak Design tripod to work with this Arca base plate by taking out the little tab, so it's not that big of a deal. I just wish it could clip on to my camera clip as well. I can just add a peak design camera plate to the bottom of this if I want, or swap them out if I am going walking around a city for a while. Overall, this is a nice baseplate for the A7CII/A7CR line and I recommend it if you are looking for something a little less bulky than the one from Sony.
