The ability to swing out to access the back of the gear is great. Good value.

The product comes well-packaged with clear instructions and each different type of fastener conveniently placed in separate clearly labeled baggies. The horizontal bars each attach with a pair of M5 (horizontal) and a pair of M4 (vertical) screws at each junction. As others have noted, the threaded holes have paint in them and the soft steel of the screws can have a difficult time cutting through. Unfortunately, I didn't have an M5 tap available and thought it would be okay as long as I was careful. That was true for 7 of the 8 M5s and all 8 of the M4s but despite being forewarned, I still managed to mess up one M5. Grr...This wouldn't be a problem if they supplied hex, Allen, or Robertson screws but Philips screws really are the worst choice (well, after a slot screw I suppose). At least the extra soft steel used for the screws means that the screw is damaged instead of the threaded hole - that would have been really annoying. The spring-loaded hinge pins look rather thin for the application and it is a bit difficult to fully engage them. Generally, I can get one into the lock position easily enough but the second requires much more effort. I thought that this must mean that the receiving brass inserts were cocked but I was careful to seat them completely using a c-clamp and a block of wood.I haven't installed my equipment yet and will update this review when I do. So far, I'm happy with the purchase but wish the manufacturer would provide more appropriate screws.

I was not expecting this to have been this high quality material. This thing is heavy, and I am honestly afraid to hang it on the wall, even with studs. Not a problem though as I have this sitting on a desk, which gives me even easier access than if I were to mount it on a wall. If you want a solid server rack, this is the one for you. My only complaint is that not everything fits perfectly, or I had to fight everything to piece together. The directions were good, but it was hard to figure out which piece it's referring to, but it made sense after I screwed up and had to disassemble it, and start over. The one thing I couldn't make work is having both locking latches for the swinging door to fit into their place. I could only get one to latch, however, I really only need one anyways. I still recommend this, because it's a solid server rack!

My home Ethernet/cable wiring comes into a panel in the laundry room right where the door to the garage swings open, so I previous had to cram everything into a narrow space and it looked really tacky. Mounting this above the door and pulling the wiring into a nice bundle and into a rackmouted switch looks much better. My stud spacing was a bit off, so used some 2x4 scraps to bridge the gap.Included wood screws were a bit short, so ended up purchasing some different ones to mount with. It’s been quite sturdy and I appreciate the fact it swings open. Just be mindful you probably shouldn’t mount super heavy equipment and be mindful of the shorter depth.

Its good but the main screw are too tight, had to struggle with 2-3 of them to fit. Almost gave up and return. If not feel sturdy.

It's sturdy. And it holds up my servers and their hardware. But its door opening functionally.. thing.. is pretty awful. They don't swing freely *at all* (even without load; good luck with). I ended up having to tap the pins in place with a hammer and then just treat it like a permanently affixed piece because there is no opening that ever again. It'll work, but if I went back in time to buy this again, I wouldn't.

Worked perfect for mounting sound equipment for my church. Swing out option is too awesome for connecting wiring. Screws are definitely cheap and the heads will strip out easily if you don’t have enough pressure on. I had to mount 3/4” plywood to the wall and the mount spacing is 19” and doesn’t line up with 16” centered wall studs. Securing the plywood to the stud makes it easy to mount this anywhere on drywall. Very happy and it seems to be very sturdy even will all of this weight mounted on it. It definitely should come with more rack screws and nuts so if you’re purchasing this I would buy extra.Actual frame measurements are 20 7/8” tall x 20 7/8” wide 17 7/8” deep

This rack is sturdy and easy to put together. I had a few issues however. First is the swing arm mounting pins. The brass pieces you place into the rack need to be hammered in to sit properly, however, after doing so, I found the spring loaded anchors can only fit and lock on 1 side easily. What I mean is, once you have 1 size locked in, the other side will not go in enough to where you can lock the spring loaded anchors. I managed to push really hard on the bottom, it eventually went in. However the top goes half way and stops. If I release the opposite side, then this anchor goes right in on it's own. I've tried moving the entire rack after building it to see if it was an alignment issue but nothing changed. I mounted it anyway. I doubt I'll be swinging it open much so it's not a big deal but the convenience is there. The second issue and a glaring one at that is the rear of the rack itself. The parts that press against the wall eat into the space meant for hardware. I purchased a Rosewill PC case, a 4U 9 Bay 3 fan case. Amazon lists it as 17.8" deep. Well, I had to flip the rack ears on the case because the back of the case ran into the rack itself. After doing so it will likely mount. (Waiting on right angle power cable)

Once the thing is mounted, and with the frame closed up, this thing is solid. Easy to assemble. There is room for improvement however.Definitely seriously consider whether you need the rack to swing out. I thought I did, but the implementation makes it not really worth having. With the rack empty, it's quite awkward to release the top and bottom latches at the same time. If the rack is fully populated, or just if you have devices in the top and bottom positions, it makes reaching the latches for the swing-out frame impossible to reach. Keep this in mind, because losing 1U each on top and bottom of a rack that is already just 9U is substantial. Ideally the latches would be accessible from the outside of the rack. In addition, if you swing the frame out, the stability of the whole thing is compromised and with enough weight, the side that is still latched can pop out (the frame can be opened from either the left side or the right side). Just not worth it.In addition, the lack of horizontal braces at the back of the rack complicates things when trying to mount to a wall with 16" stud spacing, requiring spome kind of reinforcement that is mounted into studs for the rack to screw into. However if the rack had horizontal braces with screw holes in them, it would be significantly easier to mount on the wall since the width of the rack does span across studs.Keep in mind also that this unit does not come with any screws for actually mounting to the wall. I think that's fine given that there may be a lot of different ways users may want to mount this, but something to be aware of.With all that being said, it is heavily built and sturdy when the frame is closed, and it still feels like a good value even discounting the swing out feature. I'd give it 3.5 stars if that was an option.
