the handle is made of some really nice thick metal; creates a nice grab. the screws it comes with aren't the best, I opted to get some better-rated outdoor fence screws.

We had purchased a cheap house-brand gate pull at the local hardware store. It did the trick, but the handle opening was pretty small to grab hold of. So we went looking for something a little beefier and this was a nice solution for us.Note that the handle is about 10" tall, so just make sure aesthetically it fits for your use. It's a very simple, modern squared off handle that stands off of the gate by probably a bit more than an inch. If you have other modern hardware, this will look like a nice complement.The instructions are super clear, which I appreciate. They tell you exactly what drill bit you need to drill your pilot holes. I hate when you have to guess at this, so much appreciated. In this case, the handle has a baseplate, which you can use to mark your drill holes and make sure everything is level. It's nice, since the handle itself is quite heavy. So this just makes it easy to do your measurements with a lighter part.You drill the holes, line up the handle and the baseplate and screw the handle into place with the include screws. It's all very simple and feels high quality.The handle claims to have something called "Weatherguard." They don't really explain what that is specifically, but obviously they are trying to tell you that it'll withstand the elements well. It also has a "limited lifetime warranty." At this point, I have no need to try that out, so can't tell you for sure what the terms of that are. My gut is that if in 5 years this thing failed, it's just going to be easier to buy something new then go through some claims process. But that's just guessing. Note that National Hardware is owned by Spectrum Brands which is a large conglomerate of home and pet products. So you would be dealing with an American-listed parent, if you did want to go get support.So overall, if you are looking for a heavy duty, modern, easy to install handle for your outdoor gate, this is a really nice option. We are happy with it.

I got these for a project I'm going to be doing later this summer replacing a split rail fence around a pool with a more solid fence. I ordered two sets of gate hardware from National Hardware through the Amazon Vine program because our fence has two main gates and I want good hardware at the gates. I wasn't sure if these would work, or how well-built they would be, but I assumed from the price that they were fairly substantial. And with the Vine program, there's no cost for the item if you leave a review. So I wouldn't be out either way.I thought by the price that this set migh be well-built, and well built it is. The components are of commercial quality--the kind of latch, handle and hinges you would fine on the gate for a pool at a commercial location such as a hotel.If you don't need a child-proof latch on your gate or access from both sides, this is a fantastic set of hardware, It's thick metal, solid and heavy. It's so heavy and solid that for many home gates it's probably overkill. I'm still not sure I'm going to use this hardware. It may be overkill for my porject. But I unhestitatingly commend it to you if you have a serious gate you're looking to buy hardware for.

This gate kit is extremely durable and heavy duty. The screws provided made installation very easy, and these things aren't budging from the wood we put them on. The type of metal makes sense for the price, but I can understand why it might be a little pricey. I personally think it's worth it for the quality, which is exceptional in my opinion.

I’m still in the framing process of building a catio and plan to use this set for the door hardware. The set comes complete with screws also.The color is a deep metallic black and the powder coating has no flaws that I can see. The hinges seem strong - certainly strong enough to support a doorway framed in 2x2 cedar.I like the simple squared look of this set. It’s minimal, but still looks clean and modern.
