I got my Narwal Z ultra and it ran the 1st time and was all setup. I set up a schedule and the vacuum gave me an error. I called customer support and they walked me through steps to get it working but it still would not work. They then sent me a FEDEX return slip and a week later I had a replacement unit. The unit has worked perfect ever since. The mopping feature works really well I have had a couple of really dirty spots and the unit detected them and went over it multiple times to clean it. Very happy with my purchase.

I absolutely love my Narwal it makes keeping the house so easy. I have 2 small dogs and of course 3 teen boys so sometimes things get left on the floor like socks , dog toys ect. The Narwal has an amazing obstacle avoidance and can show you on the map where and what the item is. This is truly a set it and forget it. I love how I can have my floors mopped and vacuumed while I am doing other things. I don’t find it loud or disruptive. This is one of my most used small appliances in my home

Used daily for 4 months with 2 cats - super quiet (never disturbs naps!), ZERO hair wrapped in brushes, sucks up litter/food instantly. Still works like new! Best pet-owner investment ever.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I splurged on the Narwal Freo Z Ultra, but it has exceeded every expectation. This thing is a powerhouse. It tackles my floors like a pro, switching seamlessly between vacuuming and mopping. The mopping is especially great because it doesn’t just smear dirt around, it scrubs until the floors are spotless. The water tanks are sizable and much better than other units I’ve tried. They hold enough to handle big jobs without constant refilling or emptying. The central unit is definitely on the beefy side, but it is packed with cool features that make it worth the space it takes up.The unit is still new and feels a bit like a beta product in some ways, but Narwal’s support team has been responsive to every issue I’ve encountered. Any problems I’ve had were quickly fixed or worked through, and it hasn’t been a dealbreaker at all. In fact, this has been by far the most reliable vacuum I’ve ever owned. The AI is impressive, dodging obstacles and cleaning every nook and cranny without babysitting. The app took a little time to get the hang of, but once I did, the scheduling feature made life so much easier. Now, I wake up to clean floors every day, and I’ve barely lifted a finger. Bonus points for how quiet it is. You can run it while working or even sleeping. If you’re on the fence about the price, trust me, it is worth it. My floors have never looked this good, and I can’t imagine going back to life without it. Highly recommend for anyone who values clean floors and a little extra peace of mind.

I purchased a new NARWAL Freo Z Ultra and it is so bad that I feel compelled to warn others. I’ve found that it does next to nothing of what is claimed or advertised. Thankfully, I bought it on Amazon and can return it without any issues! After receiving and installing the robot, I sought to download the app on my other commonly used smart devices and was stumped. There wasn’t any information available as to why this wouldn't work. Nothing at all was available on configuration of the app to allow the user account to operate the robot from multiple android devices. I attempted to get help with this matter from the NARWAL website support chat as well as emails to NARWAL aftermarket customer support. Support on Chat convinced me to switch pages to review some operation regarding the app, which of course, had the result of ending the chat session but didn’t even have any helpful information. It wasn’t a fruitful discussion anyway with Chat, but I had hoped that they would have escalated the question to someone with a little more experience. Likewise, aftermarket customer support by email was a silly thing. Why request a serial number from the machine, which does not have anything to do with app functionality? Because they don’t know what they’re doing. They stall and wear out the customer who will hopefully then just give up and go away. Guess what. Wrong customer. The app to operate the robot is useless to anyone who wants the freedom to control the robot from more than one’s smartphone. No other downloaded apps on the owner's other smart devices or even a laptop computer will recognize the owner and allow control of the robot. This is quite strange. I use multiple devices throughout the day and don't have my smartphone strapped to my person. Thus, an app that allows the owner to control the robot from multiple smart devices is essential. The app for the NARWAL Freo Z Ultra doesn't allow the owner to control their robot from more than one downloaded app. In a later email (days of wasted time and multiple emails later) customer support suggested that I create fake accounts as if I were multiple family members in order to fool the app into functioning on my other smart devices. It's hard to imagine at this moment a more inefficient app or greater waste of my time other than the support emails between us that required me to repeat myself and still not get an answer to my questions. Ever get the feeling that your requests have no more effect than if you were screaming into the grand canyon? Yeah, it was like that. The mapping feature is not optimal and lacks the ability to easily modify absurdly partitioned rooms. For example, the Freo Z Ultra has had to remap my home 3 times before I could use it and it still displays a very inaccurate map. It has lumped four independent rooms into one enormous room that it labels a living room! I ask you, if the robot uses AI and a camera to map, then how can it completely misidentify the clearly different furnishings of and large doorway archways between these rooms?! From the very heavy and ornately carved dining room suit to the typical furnishings of a foyer as well as that of a gourmet kitchen, the so-called AI can't recognize the difference between rooms from these clear demarcations. Then, it identified the based of a large, brass lamp stand as a shoe, a 5 Lb hand weight as a pile of dog poop, and a bedside table leg as “other”, because it doesn’t understand what a bedside table is. Enough said. The mapping feature is abysmal. On a happy note, setting up scheduled cleanings is a breeze.Unfortunately, the Freo Z Ultra floor cleaning results are less than adequate. The vacuum power essentially should blow away the competition, except for the fact that it doesn't really pickup much of anything. My highly flawed Roborock Q Revo that breaks down about every 3 months does a far better job of vacuuming at its less than half reported power of the NARWAL Freo Z Ultra. This struck me as being impossible until I did a side-by-side comparison. In my opinion, the Freo Z Ultra struggles at every level in everything that you buy a floor cleaning robot to do. The app is junk, the mapping feature and ability to edit the map is heavily flawed, the floor cleaning performance is substandard. For all the hype and flashy advertising over this machine I'm astounded that it doesn't perform like a champ but rather it significantly underperforms like a drunken chimp. So much for its onboard AI, or as I’ve come to understand it as the drunken chimp’s half-witted cousin.Well, I've learned some important lessons from all of this nonsense. 1. Always purchase through Amazon all your big ticket items that could potentially fail spectacularly; 2. Have the multiple device protection plan in place for the same reason. Why? Because of lesson learned #3: Never do business with a company unless you can trust their customer support to kindly, effectively and efficiently assist you through resolution of issues with their products.I'm done. I'm submitting a request for return from Amazon and based on my experiences with NARWAL aftermarket product support and their website chat will avoid repeating these miseries in the future.

I love everything about the Narwal Freo Z Ultra. It does an exceptional job of cleaning. It is super smart as well. I love that the mop pads are regularly cleaned and dried and re-loaded with fresh mop water while on the go. My only recommendation for serious buyers is to think about purchasing the water exchange system available for it. You likely wouldn't be purchasing this machine unless you had a lot of floor space to mop, so it stands to reason that you will likely encounter the same issue I did: it could only mop two medium-sized rooms before the fresh-water tank and the dirty-water tanks needed to be dealt with. There was no way it would have mopped all my hard-floor spaces without having to be there to reload and empty the tanks. So, I ended up purchasing the water exchange system which is getting plumbed in, in the coming days, so that I can schedule a complete cleaning and not worry about the tanks. I promise you will love this machine.

I purchased mine over 4 months ago now. I waited to make a review to be sure. I had a Deebot prior to this for almost a month before ultimately sending it back due to leaks. I was happy with it but it broke down quickly. That allowed me to take a chance on the promo discount on the Narwal Z Freo.I am not happy with this robot, I am thrilled with it. Robbie amazes me every day with his ability to clean, avoid obstacles, and never get lost.I have learned to not criticize its cleaning ability until after it says done. After first getting it I would once in a while see it leave a spot and manually clean it. Only to find it later re-mopping the same area and telling me so in the app. I'm not sure how it does it but it's way smarter than any iRobot I've ever owned. The edge mode works nearly perfect, the vacuum and roller is truly tangle free. The cleaning fluid lasted me 4 months before I needed to replace it. I have also added the stain remover pack and seems to help.No issues with leaks from robot or base station. Never gets stuck or tangled in cables/cords. Always docks, sometimes retries but always gets in. Clean/dirty tanks are a breeze to exchange due to not having to mix cleaner. Mop pads and dirt bag lasted 3 months with heavy use. Battery lasts for entire lower floor. It's the smartest and best cleaning robot I have owned and I've been buying these things since 2001.Now for the not so thrilled part of the review. Mapping is great but it sometimes recognizes walls as simple obstacles and this prevents you from dividing up rooms. Zones work to override this. It's also tall and can't get under a lot of our furniture. Solution is expensive if not on sale and proprietary. Cleaning upper floor is a pain because you have to walk the robot down to the base station multiple times if you are mopping.Advice: clean your base station where it cleans the mop pads. I let it go to long the first time and it was disgusting.

Company is very lacking. Never got any support for 3 months about extended warranty. Narwal z broke down under 2 months and wouldn’t pump water. They asked me to send it away and they didn’t replace it first. So here I am still waiting a month and half later and my vacuum is still in there shop getting fixed. Very disappointed on the price of this vacuum and how the company is run as other company’s will send a replacement and they fix the one with issues. Not as great as I thought it would be. Can only do spots on second floor vacuuuming. I have tried a lot of robot vacuums and this will be my last Narwal. My vacuum has been in the shop longer than I’ve owned it and they don’t care like there waiting for warranty to run out. Buyer beware.
