I haven't owned too many mandolin slicers in my lifetime, so I don't have too many others to compare this experience to. One thing that stood out to me that I loved was that the main blade portion can fold out for cleaning. I do wish that the blade itself was able to be disassembled for safer storage, but I'll be satisfied with the cleaning aspect. The thickness is easy and straightforward to adjust, and the plastic hand guard included definitely saved me from several nicks that I definitely would have acquired without it.

This is something every one needs in their kitchen. It makes cutting veggies so much easier. You have to be careful, this is very sharp and it will slice you really good if you are not. This would make a great gift.

I gave it as a gift to replace a very old one. My son, who is a chef, prefers it to all others.

This is a very well-made mandolin style vegetable slicer. It's made from a thick, very sturdy plastic with stainless steel connections and blades. It has a mounted slicer blade that can be used alone to slice vegetable into thin slices but it's adjustment is limited to about an 1/8th inch thick at it's maximum depth. If you combine the maximum depth with largest slicer blade you can create some thin sliced french-fries with ease.I wanted to try the two smaller-sized shredder blades just to see how they performed so taking the culinary reigns in hand, I decided to use them to shred a honey-crisp apple to top the Chicken Caesar Salad I was having for lunch. Yeah, I know, apple on Caesar, strange right? But I had the notion it might work so I cored the apple, then using the smallest shredding blade ran it though a few times. It worked ok but the shreds were so small they were almost mush. I tried again with the larger shredder blade, and they came out with a nice length and texture. We threw them on our Caesar Chicken salad and were surprised and delighted to find that apple made very satisfying addition. It mostly added just a hint of apple sweetness to the dish blending well with the lettuce and dressing. The texture was similar to parmesan cheese grated into strands.Overall this is a higher quality mandolin slicer than many I've seen, but it does seem a bit pricey in my opinion. I do however, expect it to last as long as my kitchen so maybe not a bad deal. It does have limited functions but what it does do, it does very well.

This is a great little mandoline slicer that just does what you want easily, and it does it well. It's well-made and sturdy, and it slices easily. It's a pretty standard mandoline, just a well-made one with a couple easy-to-change blades, and it's lightweight but much more durable than mandolines I've used in the past. It's made of sturdy plastic that's pretty thick and it feels durable, and I have used it quite a few times now, plus it through a few dishwashing cycles, and it's holding up just as well as new. It slices easily and cleanly at almost any thickness and and with any of the included 3 blades that decide the 'coarseness' or more accurately 'wavy-ness' of the slices you cut.The downside I would list is that it's a mandoline, if you are looking for something revolutionary or magical to completely change your cooking routine, this won't do more than let you easily slice almost any fruit/vegetable into slices very quickly. But it does what a mandoline does and it does it great. It's easy to adjust this mandoline slicer, with 3 different finger-adjustable screws on it. One screw, the screw on the bottom, controls how thick the slices are by pushing up the 'front' side of the mandoline, which means the slices are thinner - or letting it fall down, which makes them thicker. The other 2 screws hold in the blade, which lets you easily and quickly change the blade out for one of the other ones. There's also a little plastic pushing guard that you should use to avoid cutting your fingers. It's simple but it's got little plastic spikes on it to make it easy to keep a hold of your fruits/vegetables while you're sliding them up and down the mandolin to slice them. It's pretty safe but you should still use the plastic guard to avoid cutting yourself.Overall, this is a great little mandoline slicer and I'm glad I finally have an easy way to cut the peppers I've been growing for a while now, and I can recommend it with no caveats.I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected.
