Your cart is empty.TThis 300 mm (12”) half round coarse cut rasp is made by a highly respected tool manufacturer in the Czech Republic and is of exceptional quality. The blade is made from tool steel and then hardened to RC 45. The blades are stitched with a CNC machine which produces a uniform tooth pattern and height allowing for a steady removal rate and an even finish. This is considered a coarse cut rasp with 10 teeth per square centimeter. The handle is 5 3/4 inch long, 1 1/2 inches in diameter and has a brass ferrule. Handle is made hard and dense Hornbeam. Blade is 30 mm (1 1/4 inch) by 9 mm (5/16 inch) and 300 mm (12") long. Overall length is 445 mm (18 inches). This is a well-made rasp for a very reasonable price.

Because I make furniture out of crude local hardwoods, I use a wood rasp daily. The rasps in local island shops, if you can find one at all, are junk. I have tossed three of them in as many years. The Narex 12" is the best rasp I have bought in thirty years. Its sharp, does the job, and is ergonomically well-balanced. Surprisingly enough, kept in its cheap plastic bag outside by the sea, it hasn't rusted at all in the months I have had it. I love the wooden handle.

The teeth on this tool are wonderfully viscous, and the wood falls away quickly. The curved side, especially is great for making curves, swoops, and roundovers.Because of the weight, the teeth, and the length, it is my go to tool for initial shaping of curves. The surface it leaves is rough, so be prepared to go over the surface again with a finer rasp, or a scraper.Love this tool!

Feels like it should hold up pretty well. Teeth are sharp and well formed, cuts very evenly.

This is not my most expense rasp, I owe a hand stitched Fine, but it does the job equally well. I have a few Narex rasps,(rat tails fines) and they are good value. A huge improvement of the Big Box rasps. My current use is guitar necks.

It's just too violent, construction it great, handle is wonderful but so destructive I can't use it.

I bought this to shape guitar necks. It really chewed through the maple neck I used it on in short order. It has a quality feel to it. This will be my main guitar neck shaper going forward. I don't have any of the much more expensive rasps from a major luthier supplier, but I can't imagine they're that much better than this one.
