We decorated and took to our favorite Sushi Bar so they could keep with their other customer boxes. Decorate with your name and graphic with permanent ink markers. Great gift for those you meet for Sushi.

These are as advertised. Well-built and made in Japan…which I consider a good thing these days as opposed to back in the 70’s.Only complaint is they don’t have a really good pine aroma with hot sake. These may be pine but not the type of pine I was hoping for. It got better over time and may improve still, but just not what I was hoping for based on my memory of drinking sake from a pine box when in Japan.And yes they were washed well prior to use.Also, my wife doesn’t seem too keen on drinking form a box. What a girl huh? I try to get her to think “outside the box” but as a lady, she doesn’t see the novelty of drinking from the corner of a wood box when she can use the nice little sake cups we already have.So, an experiment that didn’t work out so well.Boxes are very well built though.

they smell wonderful. i use one for salt and the other for pepper on my kitchen countertop. so beautiful. will buy again if i need more. the possibilities for these are endless: sake (duh), rocks w/ air plants, etc.

I got these as a gift for my husband. One of the boxes leaks from the seam. Very disappointed in this purchase.

Nice, but about half the size as what I have had before. Would be hard pressed to get a cucumber slice in my sake.
