These weep hole covers are a great idea! Long story short: When I moved here to the USA almost 30 years ago and specially here to Cypress Texas where the weather is mostly warm or hot I never understood why on earth we have holes in the outside brick wall where anything could crawl in. We have so many type of ants, roaches, spiders insects and bugs, snakes and the list goes on...So after reading about it and understanding why these holes are there unfortunately had to come to a conclusion that I cant cover them. But the idea of bugs getting into our house was to much. So I was looking for a solution. And there was NONE!! This was couple of years back. We were told we cant cover them we needed something that can breath. So we finally put copper mesh in it!!Im glad that I finally found this product that is especially made for weep holes. I will cover all of them. Unfortunately there is a lot of them around the house so we need to buy couple of more packages. The package contains 20 stainless steel shields. They are easily bendable and rust proof. They are long enough and can be easily cut so you can make 2 covers from 1 ! I think these will keep out roaches and medium to bigger spiders but not sure about ants. Those can fit through everywhere specially the ghost ants or sugar ants. So I think I will put the copper mesh inside the shield and insert it like that in the wall. It will still be able to let the air flow and circulate. At least it will look finished and pretty not just a simple mesh hanging out of the hole and will stay put. The mesh itself came out in couple of places.

We have brick planters around house and they were holding water and causing water issues in house. This allows the planters to drain off and they look decent. I used a concrete drill bit and got right through the mortar and slid these in.

These are easy to use. Just bend with your hand and insert into weep holes. That’s it. Nothing else needed.
