This equalizer is compact, full-featured, and, at least as far as I can tell after exhaustive listening and measuring with REW software, introduces negligible distortion/coloration into the signal path. I would recommend it to anyone considering eq of room or speaker problems, or even studio work. I wish the company produced audio power amplifiers, as I am sure they would measure well.

After the unit arrived 3 days late, I realized no RCA connectors. Balanced or 1/4" phone plug. I purchased some phone to RCA plugs that arrived the next day. Installed the unit, started a frequency sweep and attempted correction using the equalizer. Initial observations were disappointing. Sliders were noisy, basically sounding like dirty rheostats. The low pass filters reacted strange. Enabling the low pass filter on one channel reduced bass and enabling the low pass filter on the other channel increased bass. This is in a home theater with good gear but really crappy room acoustics. Not sure any equalizer can fix the issues with room but the overall quality and inability to reduce a nasty 35Hz boost in the room was disappointing. I thought the low pass filter killed anything below 50Hz. Perhaps I misunderstood. It's going back.

I like the minimal amount of LEDs. It's an EQ, not one of the stage light-shows. :) You can use this as stereo EQ, or a dual mono EQ. That's how I use it - one for EQ in the effects loop, and one for post processing EQ. If you're in the US or western Japan and worried about the 50 Hz spec, it's not a problem. Runs at 60Hz without a hitch. It also handles unbalanced connectors just fine. That, at least, is mentioned by the manufacturer in the documentation.

Ordered a Rockville 31 band and it was trash. Decided to go for fewer bands and try out this Musysic and glad I did—good sound, very solid construction. Recommended!

Just added to this my home stereo system. My amplifier and components only support RCA cables and the amplifier wasn't built to support an equalizer. I didn't really know what I was doing, so this information would have been useful to me before I ordered: I connected my cd player via one "Female XLR to Dual RCA Y-Cable" and one "Male XLR to Dual RCA Y-Cable" (cost: $30). This connected the CD player to one set of the equalizer controls to the amplifier. I wasn't sure if it would work, but it does and sounds really good!I chose this particular unit both for the reviews on sound and the non-ostentatious LED display, as many competing units go overboard with the lights. The only lights this one contain are necessary, which is my preference.Another reviewer warned of a hum, so I made sure the equalizer was grounded. Not sure if this was the cause of his humming, but heard from a third party that a lack of grounding can cause humming. At first I thought the second equalizer control board might be wasted. But instead, I'll order another another set of cables to support a second audio source. In my case, two sets of equalizer controls is quite a bonus. My two audio sources have noticeably different sound levels. But it will cost me an additional $30.
