This Immiper clip-on LED book light was marketed as being useful for illuminating the sheet music on a portable music stand. I originally ordered for use with a footed, pedestal-style stand that holds violin music, but it didn't work out for that purpose. It is suitable for lighting piano music on a keyboard at home, so that's how I'm using it now, as seen in the photos. The lamp incorporates 28 leds and can be powered using a usb adapter or batteries. The clamp is strong, and it does put out a fair amount of light for its size. I think it is well- suited for use by book-readers, travelers or crafters.

Wow, this is almost too bright! I actually wish there were dimming options. Otherwise, it’s a little heavy but given it needs 2 AA batteries, it’s not the smallest of lights out there.

We got this for a music stand and it works very well as that. I see that it also says it's a reading light, but I wouldn't use it for reading in bed - the lamp is too bulky and heavy. It does work very well on the music stand, though. The entire area can be appropriately lit and it is easy to securely mount to the music stand. It would be great if it were rechargeable, but keeping batteries around is not too difficult, and a common accident with rechargeable devices is they you forget to recharge them and then you're stuck. Popping in new AAs brings you to full power instantly.I do wish this had a color temperature setting. I'm accustomed to the warm light of incandescents, so this light feels quite harsh, but it does make the page clear and bright with good contrast. Having a temperature of 4000 or so would be ideal, though. I believe this is in the 5-6k range.

This little light is useful for various things. You can clamp it to things or set it on a flat surface and use it as a mini adjustable lamp. I clamped it to a shelf in my closet to bring a little more light in there. You can also use it as a reading light, but it's a bit too large to attach to a book. I have also plugged it into my laptop and used it to illuminate my keyboard. The uses of this product are very versatile.

I play piano, so I needed a light over the sheet music. It has three brightness levels, which is nice. As noted it does not recharge the batteries. So I use my own Amazon rechargeable batteries. Problem solved.I subtracted one star because the website said it was good for reading in bed. The main unit is way too big to clip onto a book. You might be able to get away with it with a really large hardcover, but not a paperback. The body would also add a bit of heft for the book. If you are looking for a light to attach to a book, I would shy away from this. If you have a headboard, this may work.I subtracted another star due to the short USB cable supplied. If you are looking to not use batteries but to use the USB cable, the USB cable is not long enough to reach an outlet.Otherwise, for using on a piano or music stand, I would say this is ok.

Immiper Music Stand Light, Clip on LED Book Lights, USB and AA Battery Operated, Reading Lamp in Bed, 3 Brightness Levels, Ideal for Musician, Piano Player, Kids, Travel (White)The first part of this review will assess the Immiper Music Stand Light(referred to after this as the MSL) as the product page’s description allotsits main use: to light a music stand, regardless of which instrument needsthe sheet music, score, lyrics, directions, to be very clear to the eye of the playeror person in front of these inscriptions. Finally, other uses will be considered. For a musician who must follow written music rapidly and move down a pageand up another throughout any piece in any genre, an exact rendition is a must, and if any note or phrasing mark is missed, a piece in play could take a temporary dive.No musician wants that, but lighting, whether in the practice room or on a stage, can be less efficient than it should to provide certainty. The MSL will change that. That statement and its performance will live up to its bold assertion. The face of the MSLhas 28 (yes, 28!) small LED bulbs lined up in 8 rows of 4 lights each from top to bottom. The user has control over the degree of brightness needed using the 3 step buttonbelow the neck of the MSL. The steps go from 4 lights at first press to 16 at secondto all 28 on the third press. Just using the 4 lights gives a moderate light that will cover, quite brightly, the width of the upper holder of the music stand, or, if on a pianofacing the player, the pages of music in current play. The next 2 levels, 16 and 28 lights, produce light that a surgeon might use in the precision needed in an operation. At full lighting (28 LED bulbs) even a reader with slightly imperfect visionshould have no trouble with the documents illuminated. So, if these powers were all that the RicoRich (the name on the front of the MSL itselfand its box) offered, it should be applauded for its important application as a helperto students, in the entertainment world, and beyond. But it has features that allow itto go in the woods for a stay in a cabin or tent, at a bedside for reading,in the workshop, and the 11+ inch gooseneck can swivel all the way around 360 degreesand bend as desired. Its power sources are multiple, from 4 AA batteries to USB directto household current with the USB cord provided. The MSL, aka RicoRich, is indeeda versatile tool, and light is always a luxury when people are working, playing, or studying. The MSL is one of those devices that is so affordable considering the rangeof its employment for individuals, families, groups, and companies, that it shouldfind wide interest and easy acquisition.

It's not heavy per se, but it is way larger than any battery powered music stand or reading light I've ever used before.Someone else mentioned, and I agree, that in order to really work well as a music stand light, it would need to cast a wider area of light. As it is, the light head itself is longer than it is wide, and so two pages of music opened up have a much brighter area in the middle, which a little frustrating. On other odd thing I noticed is that, for whatever reason, it's noticeably brighter while operating on (fresh) batteries than it is while plugged in. Maybe that's because 4 AA batteries provide 6v while the standard for USB chargers is only 5v - I don't know - but I think I would like it better if they were closer to the same brightness. It's pretty bright either way - it's just an odd characteristic that I've never encountered before in a light like this...
