Munchkin Shhh Portable Soothing Sound and Light Machine Shockingly, babies don't need silence to sleep. A mother's womb is actually a loud place, and is comforting to babies. When dealing with a cranky or colicky baby, loud, constant noise can quickly help calm them down, especially when the noise is louder than their own crying. The shhh portable soothing sound and light machine was made to give parents a break and designed with science in mind. It features three specific sounds to first calm down an upset baby (shushing noise), lull them into a calm state (heartbeat noise), and eventually keep them asleep (white noise). This portable, battery powered gadget, is a life-saver when baby is away from home, but needs to get some rest. It also features a timer, and nightlight which can even pulse in sync with the noise. Hopefully this soother saves a few parents from running laundry, or riding in the car in the middle of the night just to keep their sanity.

I really like this shusher, it's simple and LOUD which is great. It's simple to use, looks nice, has good quality sounds. BUT the longest timer is 30 min and my baby's sleep cycle is 45 minutes long. The second this thing goes off her eyes POP open. I have to try to remember to reset the machine during her nap so she isn't woken up from the noise stopping.I know it says the timer is there to conserve battery, but there really should be the option to keep it going or a 60 minute timer option. I don't know why they would make it impossible to do this, I mean they are my batteries I should be able to use battery life at my discretion! I haven't replaced it and will keep doing this little dance of resetting during the nap, because I like it and haven't found any other travel shushers that are better anyways. But really disappointing there is not a longer time option.

The baby sleeps really well with this. However, the problem is the maximum time it can run is 30 minutes before turning off by itself. This wakes up the baby. It would have been really better with maybe a longer time limit, or slow shut down to not wake up the baby by the sudden silence!

To begin I did have problems with the item. First item the time was not accurate. I played for 30 min and it would only do 10 min. I was sent out a new one which worked so much better. Noise is loud as I like it so definitely do underestimate. It did help my baby sleep he loved the shhhhh noise because it definitely sounds like me.

Nice and simple product that makes bedtime easier. Some critiques I have is that the steps in between volumes is quite big. It goes from pretty quiet to much louder and no in between. One thing I don't like is the white silicone top, gets dirty fast.

Wir haben ein ähnliches Produkt bei unserer Fotografin gesehen und gemerkt das unser Baby total gut darauf reagiert.Wir haben uns jedoch für dieses entschieden und sind total begeistert. Unser Baby schläft viel einfacher ein bzw. länger. Auch bei der Autofahrt oder beim Besuch haben wir das dabei.Wirklich weiter zu empfehlen ☺️

This puts my baby to sleep every night. Used thus machine ad a way of letting her known its bedtime and works great with 30minute timeframe. A must buy for new mums

My original orange/white 4 year old shusher met its end when my 2 year old dropped it on the floor. The thing works miracles with my baby so I needed a new one. I was drawn to this one because of the $15 savings. I can confirm that the “shush” sound it nearly identical and has the same very calming miracle sleep effect on my 2 month old as the old one. I find the button controls easier. Both take 2 AA batteries. This one has some extra features but I really only wanted the shusher. Not a fan of the white silicone as it looks dirty right out of the box. I like the loop so I can still hook it to my carrier when I wear him. Ultimately, I’m glad I saved the money and went with this one. We’ll see how it holds up.

We loved this shusher for our daughter during the newborn phase! I never knew how much shushing I was going to have to do as she learned to nap during the 2 -3 month old phase. I bought this after a few hard nights of rocking her to sleep and trying to shush her for 20 minutes. Let me tell you, your mouth and lips get SO dry when you do that! Plus, throw in rocking and bouncing to soothe the baby. Your mouth will be parched in minutes. She's 8-months now and we still use it as background noise during her naps along with her sound machine because we have dogs that bark and easily wake her up as she's trying to nap. It's perfect because it will shut off after the 20-minute timer we set it on but that's long enough for her to get into her deep sleep without a chance that the dogs will wake her.

This works soooo good it put my husband and I to sleep along with our baby! I just wish it had a longer timer than 20 minutes.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Something small, easy to use, and easy to access.We wanted something to kind of get our little one to realize it is time for bedtime, on days where she may not have been ready to bedtime (most of the time she is, but I still put it on for comfort).She really likes the shushing and the heartbeat sounds, so usually I will have it on the heartbeat sound and then turn the small light on so if she is awake and not ready for sleep, she can look around her crib until she is tired.It has become a part of our routine, anytime we are putting our baby to sleep, and she definitely loves it.I also do rock my baby and shush her softly to sleep and give lots of kisses before placing her back in her crib for sleep (most times, she has fallen asleep).10/10 I do recommend!!

Great product I love that it offers a shushing sound & white noise! It’s portable as it takes batteries! So far it’s drop proof as my toddler drops it often… great price too!

I had seen similar products while pregnant but thought they were sort of a silly waste of money and didn’t get any. We do have a white noise machine with lots of different settings. After the baby was born and she decided that screaming was her favorite pastime, many people suggested the 5S soothing techniques from the happiest baby, one of which is shushing. Well after scream shushing in my daughter’s ear for hours on end, I got tired and remembered similar products to this one. So I came to amazon for my daily ‘save me I don’t know what I’m doing with this tiny human’ shopping binge. I found the other shusher for 30 something dollars and just couldn’t justify it, but after reading reviews for this one, it seemed that people liked it better and the price was more reasonable. I hit buy faster than my baby can spit up on the first clean shirt I’ve worn all week and never looked back. My baby likes the white noise machine too but this is an actual “Shhh” sound which is completely different and gets her to calm down, where the white noise helps to keep her asleep. I love that it’s portable since you will want it with you everywhere you go. I’ve even taken it in the car on longer trips. I like that it can be stood up or laid on its side or laid right in the bassinet or swing with the baby. I like that I can start out loud to overcome her screams and then gradually decrease the volume. I like the adjustable timer and that it’s easy to use. I have not used the night light portion except by accident or any of the sounds except the shushing. My only complaint is that the buttons can be difficult to find, especially in the dark, and especially especially when you’re sleep deprived and have the mental capacity of a baby yourself. But this is a minor complaint, I would still recommend this product to friends having babies. I also would sometimes like to leave it on longer than 30 minutes for those times when the baby is making you earn that title of mother. It always seems to find a way to turn off at the absolute worst times.
