Getting into the electric guitar world is intimidating. There are so many different guitars and amps to choose from, and it is quite overwhelming for a beginner (not to mention expensive!) I would definitely recommend this set for anyone who is just starting to play, and doesn't want to spend too much money on their gear. The guitar sounds pretty good on the single coil pickups, but the humbucker is kind of muddy. If you're playing with just the bridge pickup, you have to turn the gain way down in order for it to sound good, which isn't a dealbreaker for a budget guitar, but it's just something to be aware of. The guitar is comfortable to hold, and I really like the colors and design of it. The only complaint I really have about it is that the amplifier is not great. It can't get very loud without a lot of drive, and that tends to make the sound muddy. A good amplifier can make or break a guitar experience, and investing a little more money into one is worthwhile. Overall though, good value for the price and no major defects.

Fret ends, neck, nut, all were great shape out of box, (even the strings are fine!). Gig bag has padding at neck and extra velcro, as far as mini one watt amps go, I really like the sound, (not super meaty, but there's always a pedal). I like cheap guitars and I have a Harley Benton, a Squier, I have a Gearit, have an monoprice, this one just beats them all. Yes, I paid my money, so no smoke, no joke, just very impressed.

Picked this up because it looked greatHave to say I was thinking the finish on these were unique.....The guitar sounds really good ...the pickups sound fine ..Stays in tune pretty well but I want to set the trem up to float so I am going to put lock nut tuners on it....The soft case it comes with is nicely padded....You get a guitar strap and a little plastic practice amp....Have not tried the amp yet ...I am guessing its very transistor sounding ....Like a Danelectro Honeytone.....But it looks cool and is probably fun.....This is really good bang for the buck!!!I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!...Update....Did some modding....This is a really good modding platform....The body is routed HSHI changed out the pickups with GFS put in Musiily brass block bridge saddles and...lock nut tuners

This came very well packaged. I am reviewing this guitar as a beginner because that is who this package is aimed at. The gig bag is really nice. It's thickly padded with good pockets and zippers. It has a neck rest and retaining strap. The cable is above average and cloth covered, rather than low end cable usually in this packages. The strap is supple leather and very comfortable. A step above most package guitar straps. The practice mini-amp is good. It's certainly all you need to get started. The guitar itself is a good one. It weighs 7.2 pounds. The fit and finish are top notch. The candy apple burst is unusual and very attractive. It's also carried through to the headstock. The pearloid pickguard is carried through to a pearloid back plate, a nice detail rarely seen on inexpensive guitars. The tuners work well. I didn't feel any slop when tuning. The nut appears to be hard plastic of some type, but it is cut really well, which helps in tuning stability in a tremolo equipped guitar, but more on that later. The Nut width is 41.7mm, even though the Amazon page says it's 43mm. The fret work is excellent. No high frets and no sharp ends. The fret board is a nice rosewood. The neck pocket appears reasonably tight. The neck radius feels like a 12, but it's certainly flatter than the Fender 9.5. The neck carve is very comfortable and not at all chunky. Playing on this neck is a pleasure. The pickups are not high end, but playing clean you'll never notice. All of the electronics work well. The back cavity, seen in photo 4, is well routed (you can see buffing compound along the sides) with a slim trem block. The claw is not quite screwed completely against the body, good tension for a beginner. The bridge is lower end, but the height adjustment grub screws are not sticking out at all, which means they are the correct length. This is unusual in this price range. And the guitar is set up well. Also surprising. The nut slots are smooth. The neck has just a touch of relief. The action is set perfectly, 7 thousandth's on the low E and 6 on the high E. The intonation is set well also. Right out of the box, this thing is good for cowboy chords at the low frets and stays in tune at the high frets. And even with the small trem block it stays in tune. I played this guitar for two hours yesterday after stretching the strings and another hour today and I haven't had to retune it. I've been using the whammy bar and it is staying in tune. That is also unusual in this price range. Somebody seems to have taken the time to set this guitar up very well. So, overall for a beginner, this guitar kit is a very good one. And for around 200 dollars with a thirty dollar coupon currently it is a very good value for money.
