We purchased this to go along with our new Big Buddy heater ( which is fantastic) because Mr Heater recommends using only their hoses with their heater and with propane I'm not taking chances on any cheap knock off. Good quality hose with enough length that you can keep the tank outside or far enough away for safety. Just always remember to check the valve after attaching the hose for leaks with soapy water . So far I have not had any leak issue with the hose , but did discover a leak issue with an older tank thanks to this hose.

Works well with my new Mr Heater big buddy propane heater and saves time of using refillable or 1 time use 1lb tanks. Quick connect works nicely on heater itself then regular screw on end for the 20lb tank. Both burners run on this where you need a 1lb tank on each side for both burners to work with the regular tanks.

Not much to say about it. It's easy to attach to the tank. It's easy to attach to the Big Buddy heater. And it works.

This quick connect hose works perfectly to attach a 20 gallon propane tank to a Mr. Heater Big Buddy heater. I originally ordered a knock off 12' hose and a Mr. Heater filter, but the 2 of them did not fit or work together so I had to return them both and then got this hose which doesn't need a filter and it works great. Would highly recommend it

The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because thorough instructions were not provided with either this product, or the Big Buddy Heater. Unfortunately, this is par for the course for most products these days. It's important to read the reviews here to figure out how to use this product. Getting the heater primed is an important issue. As one reviewer noted, you need to hold the primer down for 90 seconds in order to get enough propane to the heater to light the pilot. What I didn't see anywhere on any instructions was that for my Big Buddy Heater, to prime it, you need to turn it to "Pilot", then hold it down for 90 seconds. Then, turn it back to "off", then light the pilot by clicking over to "Pilot" and holding down until the wick stays lighted, as you normally would for lighting any pilot. This hose assembly seems to provide a much better seal from propane leakage than the 1 lbs. containers. And the money savings is significant if you use your heater much, not to mention the issue of recycling the 1 lbs. containers.

This Mr Heater hose is a perfect match to my Big Buddy heater. The 12 foot length gives me a safe option to sit a 30 lb tank outside a window and safely heat in the house for emergency use. I generally use it in a moderately insulated 2 car garage were it easily holds it own down to 20’s. With a regulator built into the hose it outputs low pressure gas reducing leaking gas hazards. It hooks up to a separate fitting on the heater by passing the 1 lb regulators and their plumbing in the heater reducing potential leak points. A couple items to note, the heater side quick connector does not have much room around it and be sure to pull the locking collar all the way back and firmly seat the to hear a click before letting collar go. Then pull on the fitting to make sure it is locked on. Additionally since the gas in the hose is low pressure it will take extra time to get the pilot light to light off, especially after first use on tank hook up. No filter needed unlike high pressure hoses. Finally it is a gas heater, check for leaks (windex?), good ventilation and be safe. DETAILS COUNT.

I love my big buddy heater! This hose works great! Buuuuttt....there are a few things that I figured out by trial and error that might help you if you are going to buy and use this hose. I like so many other people here have had trouble lighting their heater with this hose. It's not that there is something wrong with the hose, it's mainly because of the 12ft length and the fact that there is air trapped in the hose when it's not being used. Last time I checked air isn't flammable so what you need to do is purge the air from the hose before you connect it to the heater. Now what I'm about to tell you, the manufacturer probably can't tell you just because it could possibly be dangerous, but as long as you don't do anything stupid while doing this, ie. smoking or being near an open flame or wearing a static-y christmas sweater etc....if your not an idiot you should be fine. First connect your hose to the tank, turn the tank on, listen for the click of the safety device, take a pointy object, ie. pen, pocket screwdriver, nail, screw depress the plunger on the quick connector. Be careful as you do this because you will be releasing the trapped air and propane gas! Keep the plunger depressed for a few seconds, the smell of propane should go from slight to very pungent. Congratulations! The air in the hose has been purged! Connect your hose to your Buddy heater and light the pilot light as you normally would. It should fire up after a few tries. Now feel the HEAT!After using this hose reliably for a number of years...I ran into my first problem with it. After connecting everything and depressing the plunger I got no gas...! Puzzled I checked and rechecked the connections, just as I stated above I listened for the telltale click...and I didn't get one. I disconnected the "ACME" connector from the tank and found that the thermal safety bushing had broken off and fell out somewhere. For those of you that don't know what a thermal safety bushing is...it is a white plastic washer that melts and disconnects the propane tank from the hose if it catches on fire. So since my thermal safety bushing cracked off and fell out....try as I may, the gas would not flow out of the tank because the missing bushing was not allowing the nipple on the connector to depress the valve on the tank! Resulting in no gas flow! So I bought a replacement "ACME" connector here on Amazon Slapped that baby on with some teflon tape and I was back in business! I didn't have to buy a new hose.I wasn't disappointed that the safety bushing broke...it happens. Iv'e had them break on other propane accessories as well, so I can't blame the company for that. I still give the product 5 stars! Well hopefully I can help at least 1 person with my experiences with the mr heater hose...so have a nice warm day!
