Have a pair of Translite TL-MC84 and this adaptor (Motorola) MM1025) all2.5 rated. They are both excellent with Motorola taking the edge. Seen other reviews of Morotola short life span so keeping my fingers crossed. No trouble whatsoever installing and getting in excess of 600mbps speeds on the Translite and as high as 700+ on the Motorola. No complaints. Screenbeam would have been my first choice but did not realize that this was Actiontec rebranded. I have had an older Actiontec (100mbps model) for several years now trouble free. Updated my review which has not changed - they are working fine so far. Would have loved to see 900+Mb/s speeds though. Maybe too many devices on NW

I like these a lot. I recently added another computer to my LAN and wanted it wired because I edit our YouTube videos on both of them. At first, we were just using one machine in the basement that is wired to the router using shielded CAT6, so uploading to YouTube was pretty simple. Now my wife wants me to do some editing on one machine and then copy everything to the other editing machine. 15 GB videos files were taking 30 minutes over Wi-Fi to the second machine. I also wanted to see if I could convert the coax upstairs to an Ethernet connection, then I could have another Wi-Fi router for the iPad and add a wired connection to a Roku to test streaming TV and maybe cancel my FiOS TV and phone subscriptions. I purchased these over the Actiontec MOCAs due to these are lower cost and seem to be more reliable (read their reviews). I have not had any issues, and am able to get 700-800+ mbps copying large files between my two computers. My setup: I have Verizon Internet 100/100 mbps via coax from the ONT to the FiOS Quantum Gateway (G1100) router on my main level. It is providing the Internet connection and providing the TV programming guide info and PPV (if I chose to use it). I am currently using one of the mm1000's inline between the ONT and the router. I have tested with and without using a splitter, and I prefer not using the splitter as it was giving me a weak signal. I have intermittent issues with one of my set top boxes, but in general they still seem to work. I have a CAT 5 cable connecting the mm1000 to one of the ports on my router (not the WAN port). The coax out of the mm1000 is going to the coax in (WAN) of the router.Upstairs, I'm using a splitter to connect the coax to the other mm1000 and to my TV set to box. I disabled the wireless on my computer and have the CAT5 cable going to the Ethernet port on the computer. That simple. My speeds varied between 10 MB/sec to 40 MB/sec when playing with the splitters. I never went to my ONT to see the condition of the 20 year old splitters feeding all the different coax cables. That was almost my next step. However, in my case, I found that I had an extension cord running parallel for several feet near my downstairs computer. Apparently the shielding on that CAT6 cable didn't do a very good job. I moved the extension cord, and I am now achieving file transfer speeds of 700-800+ mbps (mostly in the upper 80MB/sec and mid 90MB/sec and peaking out at 102MB/sec), so my 15 GB of files transfer in 2-3 minutes, which is way more acceptable.

Ok, I am going to try to be short, but it will be hard, since there is a lot to tell about Moca and the Motorola version of it.The intro story:When I originally bought the house close to 4 years ago, sadly I discovered that aThis is the new updated version of the Motorola Moca with up to 2.5Gbps speeds and just like the original one, this one is outstanding! I am not exaggerating, and please read my original review below to see the back story, but Motorola Moca adapters saved me thousands of dollars and a long hard work, and for the last three years those adapters have been my favorite peace of technology around the house, not to mention that they have worked flawlessly without a hiccup for over 3 years now.  Naturally, I wanted to get and test the new version with updated speeds, and once again Motorola did not disappoint, these are the same high quality adapters but with the next level speed, before those I was enjoying speeds very close to 950mbps now the speeds are twice and three times faster, absolutely impressive! The Moca adapter comes in a very good box with all the important information on it and pictures of the product inside, in the box there is the Moca adapter, coaxial cable, LAN cable, POE Filter, power adapter (with international power delivery 110V to 240V) and even a small wrench to help you with mounting the coaxial cable to the adapter and to the wall.Outside the new Moca adapters look identical to the older version, and the installation process is extremely easy and fast, just connect one to your home router and the coaxial outlet and the other one to the "other side" coaxial outlet, wherever the location is in your house. In my particular situation my office is on the other side of the house, and I am getting full speed despite the large distance. Those adapters run very cool, and are absolutely silent, the only indication that they are working are the 3 blinking green status lights on the top front. I can't stress enough how much I love those Moca adapters and how much I recommend them to anyone that is facing a similar situation as me. Below is my previous review form 3 years ago when I initially bought the previous version of the Motorola Moca adapter with up to 1 Gbps speeds:"Ok, I am going to try to be short, but it will be hard, since there is a lot to tell about Moca and the Motorola version of it.The intro story:When I originally bought the house close to 4 years ago, sadly I discovered that all the cat5e cables are somehow untraceable, the previous owner finished the basement and the contractor never bothered to install a box for the network, so where are all the cables coming through, is still a mystery.By pure luck I was at least able to track down the coaxial and signed a contract for internet and cable, but I could never get a steady or speedy enough connection to my office, which is on the far top, opposite side of the house.I decided to try Moca version 1 at the time and with the combination of Comcast cable, the Moca never worked correctly, so I gave up on it and decided to run Cat5e cables outside of the house to the point of the router. That worked well, at least for a while, but still I couldn't max my connection speed and with time it deteriorated even further.I cut the cord almost 2 years ago and the coaxial cables are just sitting without being used in my house, so again I decided to give Moca 2 a try and since there is no more Comcast cable, it worked out immediately and is amazing,The installation and pairing was extremely easy and fast, just plug and connect that is it, nothing much to it. The internet speed is the same as when I am connected directly to the router and the speed between my computers and home server is 5 to 10 times faster, for example moving large files peaks over 100mb/s!All in all, money well spent, probably the best tech purchase for me this year, went with Motorola since their devices are cheaper than the competitors. So far I am extremely satisfied, I don't need the external cable anymore and will be removing it, Moca all the way!"ll the cat5e cables are somehow untraceable, the previous owner finished the basement and the contractor never bothered to install a box for the network, so where are all the cables coming through, is still a mystery.By pure luck I was at least able to track down the coaxial and signed a contract for internet and cable, but I could never get steady or speedy enough connection to my office, which is on the far top, opposite side of the house.I decided to try Moca version 1 at the time and with the combination of Comcast cable, the Moca never worked correctly, so I gave up on it and decided to run Cat5e cables outside of the house to the point of the router.
