Don't think it's real motorcraft part

Bought two cheap non-OEM versions which misfired and triggered CEL. This one is OEM and works like it should. Buy OEM. It's your ignition system.

It would have been nice if they would let you know that you’re going to need to buy some heat sink compound or at least put some in with it. Also for a part that goes out often on Ford’s should be much cheaper.

I installed this in my 1994 Mustang GT and it works perfectly as expected. None of these thin film ignition modules are marked Motorcraft anymore, and I believe they are also not made in the USA either. I've already driven this for 2-3k miles, including from PA to SC and back with no issues. If you want the one that has Motorcraft written on it, you'll need to find a used one.

Tried the "high performance" aftermarket versions of this part with dismal results.Bought the motorcraft part, car is running better than ever.Make sure you use the right thermal grease when you install this or you will be buying another prematurely...

Do not buy this ignition module. Failed in less than 6 months. The item shown in the amazon pic is the wrong picture. The correct module is what arrived in a motorcraft box. But, I suspect It may not be genuine motorcraft. Never had an OEM part fail like this. Also, failed with no warning. Vehicle just died going down the road. New one fixed it and verified this was the problem by temporarily reconnecting it afterward and vehicle would not start. As of now, I'm the second reviewer and both of us had them fail right away. Was installed correctly with heat sink grease, on the correct vehicle application, with a fresh ignition system, cap and rotor, plugs, wires, and coil all replaced at same time.
