You can’t go wrong with genuine parts. This part is an extension and it’s necessary so the heater hose doesn’t kink since it has to curve and once the engine is hot the hose gets soft from the heat and could bend and kink, this extension prevents that by allowing the heater hose to sit in a relaxed position. Hard to remove if it’s been on there for a while but very easy to install the new one.
