This is the OE (Original Equipment) ignition module, right? I was surprised to find the "Motorcraft" logo nowhere on the TFI module itself, and even more surprised (after two months of troubleshooting) to find that it was bad straight out of the box.I was stumped by my no-spark symptoms and replaced the distributor, fuel pumps, coil, and relays before I wondered if the brand new ignition module itself was the problem. I replaced it with a Standard Motor Products module and my 1989 Ford F250 has run fine even since. This module was bad straight out of the box, and Ford doesn't have enough pride in the thing to even stamp it as OE. Avoid paying the premium price and just order an aftermarket module.

I tried two auto part store brands of ICM for my 1995 Ford F-150 5.8 liter engine. One would not work at all. The other caused a random stutter. So, I bought this OEM Motorcraft ICM and it works great. My truck runs better than it has in years. When you need an ICM, spend the money and get OEM stuff.

Bought the Motorcraft ICU anticipating it would be a direct fit. Bought an ICU bolt removal tool and all went well until I found the wells were not as shallow for screwing on the new ICU to the heat sink. Screws were too short. I took a drill bit and hogged out the well just a tad to deepen it so I could get the screws started and tightened.
