the rear of the cylinder where the original bracket fits is in the wrong position, i had to switch the brackets front passenger to driver and by versa to make it work, and the material of the keys is soft, i meant the metal is already bending

This is not the correct part for a 2000 GMT400 C2500. The cylinder alignment for the rod is on the opposite side of the lock barrel. I tried to upload pics but the option was not available
