Doesn’t hurt hand when cutting. Blades are smooth. Tongs have nice silicone. Easy to clean. Small and compact travel case. Great to throw in diaper bag and go.

If you have a toddler or a 4 month old. Either way you need these! I bought 2. One for the diaper bag and one for at home. Totally love love love these and wish I had gotten them sooner! You won't regret it even though they are a little pricy.

I'll rate the scissors on their own merits before discussing the troubles with the instructions and ad. The scissors are great. Ceramic scissors are wonderful for cutting leafy things like basil or mint. Ceramic doesn't cause wilting at the cuts like metal scissors. These are competitively priced and come with some super-tiny tongs. The tongs are cute but I have no idea what anyone would actually use them for. They are about the size of sugar tongs but with rubber grabbers. I used them to serve hors d'oeuvres and let guests use them just to see how it would go. No one really said anything. I conclude they are neither good nor bad. The scissors are ceramic scissors. I have no idea what makes them unique to preparing baby food or why they can't be used like every other pair of ceramic scissors.The instructions are terrible. They are size 4 or 6 font or something ridiculous. I had to take pictures of them with my phone to zoom in. The 14th instructions suggests I can use these for general kitchen use. There is a warning, the very last thing, that tells me I should only use these in the kitchen. Other ceramic scissors are good for all sorts of things. I figure these are, too. The ad is trying very hard to make these sound niche when they are the same as the rest.P.S. These scissors claim not to be dishwasher safe when nearly all other ceramic scissors are allowed to go through the dishwasher. Wash at your own risk. Mine have gone through twice so far.

I was skeptical when I saw that the material is ceramic. I don't use the tong often, but since it's small, and it fits well in the case, I don't mind carrying it around with the scissors. We always struggle with knives not working well especially with pizza when we dine out with our young children, one of which is 18 months old and still growing molars. We've been shopping around for a pair of scissors to carry around. These are perfect! The scissors are sharp enough to cut steaks, chicken wings, pizza, pasta, etc..I highly recommend them to those with infants and young children. I especially love that it comes with case, which is not as easy for young toddlers to open up. I haven't tried carrying them for air travel though.

Glancing at this item, you might think it is overpriced for a small pair of scissors. When you realize that these have ceramic blades, and if you are familiar with the features of ceramic blades, you will realize that they are priced fairly. Ceramic blades are extremely sharp and these are a perfect size for cutting pieces of soft food into safe and manageable sizes for babies and toddlers. I would not limit these as being just for that use. I recently used mine to cut craisins and other dried fruits into small pieces with ease. There are very clear care and safety instructions on the back of the box, which need to be followed. Ceramic blades are very sharp, but they can be easily damaged by using them on very hard items or careless use. These look just like a pair of children’s safety scissors, but they are a tool for adult use. You need to be extra careful while cutting and cleaning them not to cut yourself. I’m so pleased by the built in safety features that will keep a child from grabbing them and getting injured. There is a locking guard right on the scissors which slides up and down to prevent them from opening accidentally or being opened by a child. There is a plastic safety cover, although it does not lock in place. Finally there is also the plastic carrying case.The included tongs are great for handling food and can be safely used by children and adults. Although they are not pointy like tweezers, they can actually pick up and hold very small items with their flexible tip. I tested them out by picking up grains of rice and tiny decorating sprinkles that are used on baked goods. I’ve tried using tweezers for these items, but even if I can grab hold of them, they just pop out. These tongs hold them securely without needing much pressure. A great addition to my kitchen tools!

Everything from design of the product, the small carrying case, the protective features, to the box it comes in, is well thought out. I actually came across these when I was looking for small scissors. At first I thought they were just kid safety scissors, but when I read more, I saw they were for cutting up food for kids. I classify this product in the category of "things you didn't know existed, or needed, but are grateful to have them." Maybe this type of thing is or has been around a long time? I have 4 kids and never encountered something like this. I think it's brilliant. It comes in a sturdy case for keeping in the diaper bag or pocket. The scissors have a safety lock, as well as a plastic sheath to put over them to protect the blades. These will be great for going out to restaurants where using a fork and knife to cut food can me cumbersome. If you get this, I highly recommend you read the care instructions on the back of the box. Following those guidelines will ensure these will last a long time. (For example, it says not to wash in the dishwasher or use a steel sponge to clean.)
