This kit had exactly what I needed to work on the brakes of a friend's car that took a specialty tool. Nice well organized kit and seem to be a good value for the money also quality of the tools seemed very nice.

I got this kit to help me change the rear brake pads on my 2016 Subaru Outback. It worked perfectly and was a much more affordable option than buying an expensive bidirectional code reader. The quality is surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting too much for this price but was pleasantly surprised. Might not be good enough for a professional shop but it's plenty good for weekend warriors.

I bought this kit after my HF couldn't get the job done on 2003 allroad rear caliper. Not only it was affordable and arrived overnight, at least 3 aspects shine over HF kit:1) The adapter/plates are generally thinner, allowing use in very narrow opening between caliper and piston. This typically happens when you exhaust the remaining pad thickness on thin non-vented disc brake.HF tool was too thick to be inserted into my caliper.2) The thrust rod/jack screw end has a magnet to keep the adapter attached (very handy).3) Has more adapters than HF kit, if you work on various cars. The tool quality is not bad at all.It would be nice to have a hex at the handle end to allow use of ratchet wrench, but the torque required to turn the parking brake piston in should not be excessive to require a long handle. The adapter dowel size/spacing is identical to HF kit, so it'd be a nice addition even if you already have HF kit which happens to not work on all of your cars.

Basically I agree with all the other positive reviews. So briefly; helped complete the brake job quickly. Good quality for a casual mechanic. One surprising positive - the caliper hangers were very helpful. Nice having hangers that are the proper length and rigid material. I always used an old coat hanger - these actually saved me some time.Want to address some of the negative comments that I read:- some reviews claimed was not new. My was absolutely new. Came nicely packaged. Not covered in machine oil. All good as expected.- the case. The case is pretty cheap plastic, but it holds all the pieces. Seems okay but I will agree - probably won't last 20 years.- instructions. My came with an instruction sheet and showed which pieces are for which car. Each disc/piece is labeled and you can match the labeled number or letter to a specific car.Saved me a bunch of time - worked as expected - as expected given the price point.

I bought this because the harbor freight employees were being d's and said they can't get me one because they closed the warehouse for the day because of covid. So I took the gamble on a $30 less tool kit. It's actually a bit better. It has more disc choices than HF. Including that stupid 4 pin one you need for euro and Hyundai's. It has a left and right turn compressor for cars with left threaded calipers. From what I see this will cover about 99% of cars/trucks. I can only think of a handful of applications that this would not work. If you have a normal car/truck. This will work for you. I will note that HF uses a bit sturdier metal, BUT if your cranking down that hard on a caliper as to bend the tool. You've got other problems. Calipers should just slide right back in without to much force. Otherwise your brakes would hang and your brakes will smoke.... Just saying.

Even if you haven't worked on screw in calipers in a car yet you will. More manufacturers use them making Ebrakes simpler. This set also works on push in caliper pistons. Easier than using C clamps. This set is nicely made and includes a left and right hand tool for left and right turn calipers, a good selection of attachments to fit many brake calipers. You will not go wrong with this set. I have used others that stripped and wore out but I like this one. The plastic case is great to organize and store the pieces plus the orange case make it easy to locate. Great buy.

This tool set makes it so much easier than the box style tool. It virtually eliminates the broken grip point you will inevitably get from the box style due to not holding the right angle or slipping out of place from not applying enough downward pressure. The reason it is such a timesaver is because it provides the pressure and angle for you against the spinning part, as opposed to you trying to freely hold a right angle and not hop out of the points used to spin it down. Definetly a worthwhile addition to a tool collection for those who do their own brakes regularly or even just change their rotors.I really love this tool.I have most recently used it to do a brake job on a Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country.Wished I had it available when the neighbors VW Jetta needed done as it has a similar spin down requirement.I had used the box tool before on the Chrysler T&C and it's functional but it's a pain. I would prefer to never use the box style tool again, although if you are on a long road trip and needed an emergency brake job done the box style tool should be part of your emergency kit. The box style tool takes up much less space and does normally work in a pinch, with failure sometimes occurring on stubborn to start moving brake spindles.
