Did the job it was supposed to do?

Used it to chance some torsion bar keys. Worked very well. Didn’t use an impact just a ratchet so I don’t know how it would hold up to the impact.

Make sure you grease the threads prior to use. I used this to install a set of indexed torsion keys since the old ones ran out of adjustment. I didn't need this to remove the factory keys but definitely needed it to install the new ones. The tension you put on to get the adjustment blocks back in is a lot. It's a bit unnerving when the tool is under tension. These type of tools are supposed to be forged from one piece. I don't think this is, it's probably cast but it held. I would not use this as a repair tool that's sees a bunch of use. It got the job done and it fit like it should into the notches on the torsion key cross member. I used this on a 2000 GMC Yukon XL 2500. The reason for the 4 star is I don't think it's forged.

My 2010 Duramax dually had a rubber a-arm bushing that went bad so I needed to pull the torsion bar to remove the lower a arm and replace the bushing. I tried several of my collection of clamps but none worked, so bought this and it worked great :) Doubt I will need this tool again, but it saved me several hundred dollars doing this job myself :) So well worth it

I’ve taken many torsion keys out with this tool, on rusty pick ups and brand new ones and this tool has never let me down. Threads are thick and deep so there’s no issues of stripping them out. Strong as hell only have ever use this with high torque impact drivers and never had an issue.

A tool you can trust on what could be a dangerous job

Works perfectly, and you cannot beat the price. The tool positively locks into the frame and torsion key holes and makes unloading the torsion bar keys very simple.I recommend thoroughly cleaning the threads and applying a bit of grease to them before your first use. I used just a dab of white lithium grease on the threads, spread evenly and then ran the aduster fully closed and open a few times to spread evenly on the threads. Worked like a charm!I didn't use an impact wrench, just a 1" socket on a long 3/4" drive ratchet handle. Which brings me to my only negative comment: The included instructions said to use a 7/8" socket on the tool. I found out after getting under the truck that it really requires a 1" socket. Oh wel, a few extra steps back to the tool chest never hurt anyone.I would definitely recommend this tool to the DIYer. There are other more robust tools for the job if you're a full-time installer, but in 46 years I've needed this exactly 1 time and it got the job done without any complaints.Make sure the threads are clean, and then lightly grease them and you're good to go.
