Has all the fixing of a nice marking gauge with the wear rails, removable mortise pin, good weight. But the rail doesn’t fit snugly. If perfect accuracy down to fractions of a mil is what you need, this isn’t for you. Pushing/pulling the gauge will give slightly different markings since the rail can shift to slight angles depending on pressure. With some modifications to snug up the rail, could be great. As is, eh.

Purchased for my woodcrafter as a gift. He is persnickety about his tools and this one impressed him. The workmanship is great - the piece is lovely. It was a great addition to some other markers in his shop.
