I was told by the dealership that new controllers can be programmed, but they don't have the ability to reflash/reprogram a used one. It was no trouble programming this new one and restoring antilock brake service. So buy a new part.

For being an ABS module it was in very poor condition. Not for sure if it would be in workable condition. We may have to send ours out to have it rebuilt instead.

Just like the original and works fine after the dealership initialized it for me.

WARNING's for the weekend DIY'er. This part fixed the lights that showed up on my dash. BUT, it was not easy to replace without the right tool. The part is in the worst place possible, and most tools will not fit down in the tight quarters to remove it.Be VERY careful when removing the screws. They were a little rusted and did not want to come loose easily. They are very soft and will strip very easily! After removing the part and unplugging the one electrical port, make sure you press the electrical plug into the new part as far and tight as it will go. More on this later.KEEP IN MIND! This part does not come pre programmed for your car. Once the new part is plugged in, the ABS light started Flashing and the dash beeps every few seconds, and the Speedometer and Odometer stopped working. You will need to take it to the dealership to get it programmed. They charged me $135 in labor to program the module. I tried taking it to my usual mechanic and he said they program ABS modules for all makes except Chrysler because they are so finicky and difficult.More on the electrical plug in the module. I pressed the plug in as hard as I could. It did not go in easily. The dealership programmed the module, but the ABS light was still on the dash and was not providing any error codes. Turns out the electrical plug needed to be pressed on even more. Once pressed on tighter, it was programmed and the light cleared. The Speedometer and odometer worked also. All said and done, I saved over $100 doing it myself.
