So far have not been caught in rain so not sure about rain spots or stains either haven't worn jacket since i applied it. However, easy application. It does smell a bit which is normal, use in ventilated area or outside.

I've purchased 3 cans of this stuff, my typical use is on fabric or suede shoes so that they don't get scuffed and stained. It's an amazing that I hope continues for many years.

I spray all my sneakers. Whenever anybody in my house gets new shoes I spray them especially my 4 year olds shoes. Makes it easier clean his shoes, I have used this product on hats and some coats of jackets.
