GreaseCo SuperDuty Moly - 10 Pack of Grease Tube Cartridges

GreaseCo’s high performance SuperDuty Moly grease is formulated with a calcium sulfonate complex thickener coupled with high quality base oil to ensure superior performance capabilities. This grease has excellent anti-wear and inherent extreme-pressure properties due to its calcium sulphonate based thickener. SuperDuty Moly provides exceptional lubricity, thermal stability, rust and corrosion protection, and superior resistance to water washout. It is formulated with heavy duty ISO 460 viscosity base oil, to increase its load carrying capabilities while providing long lasting protection for your most vital equipment. This grease is also fortified with with 5% molybedenum to meet the load carrying/shock loading and extreme pressure requirements of many construction and mining equipment manufacturers.

SuperDuty Moly grease provides exceptional protection against a wide range of operating temperatures and can extend the service life of parts subjected to extreme pressures and heavy shock loading. This grease will not easily washout under intense water ingress, allowing it to help prevent the formation of rust and corrosion, making it a great lubricant of choice for marine equipment and applications subjected to wet environments. The calcium sulfonate thickening system also provides increased mechanical stability and shear stability typically providing extended re-greasing intervals, thus reducing overall consumption and cost savings.

Some common applications of GreaseCo SuperDuty Moly grease typically include operations of extreme high pressure metal surfaces sliding against each other, often causing the pressure to become so great that the base oil held within a grease to be unable to penetrate or provide adequate lubricity. GreaseCo’s molydbendum is specifically engineered to leave behind “sheet like” layers of moly film for added protection during these instances; very similar to trying to run on a floor covered in baseballs cards. Additional applications include agricultural tractors and farming equipment lubrication points, automotive wheel bearing and chassis applications, construction equipment, mining excavators, earth moving and hauling vehicles, steel production, concrete industrial applications, fifth-wheels, wire ropes, and open gears.

Unlike lithium-complex greases, which need a significant amount of antimony-zinc or other types of additives, calcium-sulfonate thickeners have “inherent” extreme-pressure and anti-wear properties. Sulphonates are known to be natural rust inhibitors, while lithium-complex based greases invariably require rust-inhibiting additives to match the natural performance capabilities found within sulphonates.

A careful comparison is often made between lithium-complex and calcium-sulfonate greases that typically show calcium-sulfonate greases hold a clear advantage. Calcium-sulfonate greases out-perform lithium-complex greases both on the data sheet, as well as in actual applications. The most important difference between these two types of grease is that calcium-sulfonate greases do not typically need additives to meet certain performance requirements as compared to lithium-complex greases.

In addition, calcium-sulfonate greases often exhibit superior mechanical and shear stability compared to lithium-complex greases, indicating less leakage and run-out during operation. The dropping point and high-temperature life of calcium-sulfonate greases are also better, allowing these greases to at higher temperatures.

By virtue of its thickener property, calcium sulfonate provides excellent water-resistance properties and does not break down even in the presence of water. To improve their water-resistance, lithium-complex greases usually require tackifiers, which are prone to deplete quickly in the presence of water.

Calcium-sulfonate greases are also compatible with lithium and lithium-complex greases. This has since led to many customers making the switch from lithium complex to calcium sulfonate-based greases in recent years, as the demand of lithium continues to rise exponentially do to global market demands of lithium raw materials needed throughout consumer electronic lithium ion batteries as well as the electronic vehicles (EV’s) space.
