Excellent mix! I use the orchid mix on all my philodendron, monsteras, and a few orchids. I've purchased the aroid mix before, but I thought it was too chunky for my aroids and seemed to be mostly coconut husk (even way down in the bag!) This mix has so many beneficial ingredients and my plants are absolutely thriving.I always shake it up and turn it upside down for a couple days before I open it because it does settle quite a bit. Sometimes I'll add a small amount of sphagnum moss for water retention.By far the best pre mixed potting mix.

Arrived on time. My first time buying this potting mixed. I love that it is chunky, good for my plants. I just bought two small Thai monstera, the soil they came in was not the best. This potting blend is just perfect for them. Next time I will buy a bigger bag for re potting my other plants

Awesome soil-less mix! Just wish it stayed on prime 2-day shipping though

It is a good mix and drains well. Not much odour but a bit dusty at first. Shake the bag to mix evenly.

I was really nervous about going soilless and repotting as I have nearly killed my plants doing so in the past, but I couldn't get rid of these gnats and my alocasias kept either growing a leaf and dropping one or not growing at all and withering away; so needless to say I had to do something- and I'm so glad I chose Molly's Aroid Mix! This stuff is amazing- hands down best soil mix I've used. No repotting shock- no droopy leaves! Very very well draining chunky mix. Slightly expensive, but you get what you pay for.

This stuff is really gritty and I think it is perfect for succulents like lithops. I top dressed mine with black lava rock as it helps fill in some of the gaps you get with this stuff. At times I found myself digging around for smaller pieces at the bottom of the supply bowl. I've tried their aroid mix with great result so I wanted to get a bag of this stuff. Unfortunately, they just do not have the 5qt bags so had to order two 3 qt bags which was kind of silly expensive (knocking a star off for that). They just canceled my first order days after placing it and I was forced to buy two 3qt bags for a batch of plants that was coming in, thanks a lot! Really, it's a nice mix and great for your lithops as you can water them a little here and there without worrying if they are going to explode because it dries in about 1-2 days. I plan to pick up some more of this stuff, but it is also kind of expensive for being a bag of mixed rocks.

Molly’s Airoid Mix is a popular houseplant soil blend that has garnered attention for its unique formulation, designed to promote healthy root growth and optimal moisture retention for plants like aroids, tropicals, and other moisture-loving species. The mix combines ingredients such as sphagnum moss, perlite, and orchid bark to create a well-draining yet moisture-retentive environment ideal for plants that require both air and water at their roots.Pros:Ideal for Aroids: As its name suggests, the Airoid Mix is specifically tailored for aroids like pothos, philodendrons, and monsteras. Its airy, loose texture supports the growth of these plants by allowing roots to breathe while preventing root rot.Well-Draining Yet Moisture-Retentive: The balance of ingredients provides good drainage without drying out too quickly, which is key for tropical plants that need consistent moisture but not soggy conditions.Lightweight and Easy to Handle: The mix is light enough to handle easily and doesn't compact too much over time, keeping plant roots happy and oxygenated.Pre-made for Convenience: Many plant enthusiasts appreciate the convenience of buying a pre-mixed soil blend that's designed specifically for aroids, eliminating the need to make a custom mix.Cons:Price Point: Molly’s Airoid Mix can be on the expensive side compared to basic potting soil or other DIY soil mixes. Some might find it costly for larger-scale repotting. Not Ideal for All Plants: While it excels for aroids, this mix might not be suitable for plants that need a more traditional, nutrient-rich soil with a denser texture.Final Thoughts: Molly’s Airoid Mix is a high-quality, well-balanced option for anyone growing aroids or tropical plants that require specialized care. Its combination of good drainage and moisture retention helps promote healthy root growth, making it a solid choice for plant enthusiasts who want to give their plants the best environment possible. However, its higher price point may make it a consideration for those on a budget or caring for a large number of plants.

I started repotting my arroids with this mix and it is amazing! I noticed more foliage growing, roots are healthy, my plants are happier than ever. It is indeed well draining and causes no compaction. I find it a little dry though, so I mix it with 1 part soil from miracle gro tropicals to at least keep some moisture and not leave my arroids dry in between waterings. Despite that, I’ll still give it a 5.

My plants have been doing well in this aroid mix. I have been hesitant going soilless but so far so good! I like how chunky it is and how it retains moisture. There have been bits and pieces of big pieces in the bag but I was able to break or un-clump them apart to fit in the plant pots. This is definitely on the pricer side, but I'd rather pay the price than try and sit to make my own planter mix. Convenient to just order a bag of premade mix and pull from there. It's only been a few weeks and nothing has died so far. I think the mix is pretty equal in terms of the ingredients in there. I do plan to give it more time and see how my plants will do but so far I can't complain.

My tropical plants love it, so it’s worth the money. The size is a bit small considering how expensive it is but it truly is worth spending the extra $$ because it’s such a good quality product, and being so chunky it goes a long way. I haven’t had any issues with fungus gnats, or any other pests. It’s definitely more on the chunky side, so I add a little moss to help hold moisture, and for my peperomia I mixed in some of my normal potting soil with it as well and it’s been popping out new growth like crazy since making the change! Overall I’m pretty happy with the purchase.

My Mom recommended this to me (she also gifted me all of my plants, I wouldn’t have ever thought to buy them myself tbh, but now it’s a minor hobby of mine while at home). This stuff is really versatile, and can be used for a huge range of plants (especially if you combine it with other materials), although it is best for tropical plants that need aerated substrate but also need to be able to retain SOME water and be soil-like still (as opposed to pure orchid bark, moss or similar stuff). It’s very aerated and hard to over water; it drains well.I had a money tree that was dying of root rot back when I didn’t know what I was doing, and I repotted it with this soil and the tree came back a within a week or two. I probably won’t ever use a different mix for my monstera albo or money trees, I like this stuff. It looks and behaves like a chunky soil, so it’s easy to repot with (the plant won’t fall over when it’s dry like with orchid bark, for example). I’ve also checked my pH on my monstera with this and it’s neutral to slightly acidic, so it’s good to go.Like I said though, it somewhat resembles normal soil (albeit much chunkier) so when you use it, it will make a mess and get things dirty as opposed to orchid bark or something. So plan accordingly when replanting inside or whatever.Good stuff and very good value for the price IMO.
