Follow the instruction from the Molex website on how to use the tool and it works flawlessly. It is way overpriced for what it is, but if you need it you need it and this works well.

I recently had to depin a Molex Microfit 3.0 connector. Not the worst connector to deal with, but small and a bit finicky to depin. The Microfit wire terminals have barbs on two of the sides. The best way I've found to depin them is to insert the tool on one side, twist it slightly back and forth to flatten the barb, then remove and repeat on the other side. Keep going back and forth until the pin pulls out of the connector shell. With practice, you can get a pin out in less than 15 seconds, though some of them will fight you.Yes, this tool is relatively expensive for what it is (almost $30). Yes, you can improvise your own out of a hacksaw blade or whatever. No, there's nothing particularly fancy or special about this tool, and if I were working on my own stuff I would probably make my own. However, since this was for an actual paying job where $30 would absolutely not matter, I bought the official tool. One less variable to worry about, and the tool works fine. With the amount of use I'll give it, I expect it to last a lifetime.

Failed Crimping 101 and had to remove a number of Molex MicroFit 3 pins. Piece of cake with this tool - once loosened, the pins required very little help to just fall out.

Picked this up to help me depin Molex connections when I needed to repair my Voron. Excellent tool. Exactly what I needed.

I finally gave up on making my own tools. or trying to repurpose other items to try and get the pins out of my Micro-fit connectors. The price may seem high but it works so well I wouldn't recommend anything else. Don't be ham-fisted with it. A gentle push and twist on each side is plenty to bend the retaining anchors back and release the pin easily.

I removed my female pin first try with very little effort. This little tool works good.

Works better than anticipated. The needle is not to thick to fit between the pin and connector wall and it's pretty strong.

I bought this because it was the most expensive one I could find listed on Amazon. I was hoping that with a higher price it would be made of a higher quality. DON'T LET THE PRICE FOOL YOU, this product broke within the first two minutes of use. The metal is extremely weak and very malleable. The flat tip snapped straight off. Absolutely awful, I will be returning this for a full refund.
