I had removed a Chateau shower valve (circa 1992) from a customers house in 2012.The valve had been sitting in my basement stock pile for a long time and when the time came to add a shower to my new bathroom, I decided to re-use the valve rather than buy a new expensive valve.While the valve itself was in perfect mechanical working order, the trim was not. I found this trim piece as well as the clear handle -all for a fraction of what a new shower valve would cost. Sure, its an old valve and doesn't have water-saving features or anti-scald prevention but I'm a middle aged adult and essentially live alone so these are not big concerns for me. My shower valve looks brand spanking new and this was a great addition to make it that way.

I'm not sure how our tenants broke the old metal plate, but this was a perfect replacement. Heavy duty and metal, couldn't ask for more! Looks nice having new bath hardware. Better to buy the real thing and Moen quality than getting a cheaper substitute that won't last and costs more in the end.

What a change it made to replace the old trim that was dulled by age. The new one looks great and makes the whole shower look new.Price was good for the quality of product.

Kit is almost exactly like original but is missing the tubular extension that goes inside the plastic handle and the black rubber / plastic gasket that seals it otherwise not bad.Had to reuse the extension tube and toss the rubber gasket as it had deteriorated beyond use.Suggestion:Put two coats of wax on the plate before installation so as to (hopefully) slow down the accumulation of hard water spots on the chrome - at least for our area.

This was a breeze to install. I wanted to get rid of the old knock off moen trim. This trim allowed me to keep my old valve and continue with factory Moen to last me another 10 plus years.

Time to replace cartridges and decided trim needed to be replaced after 30 years. Everything fit perfectly. OEM Moen parts. Not exactly like the 60s trim, but a beautiful replacement. No issues whatsoever installing. Want a nice, clean upgrade for your shower/bath? This is what you need. Fast shipping as well. Could not be more pleased.

I am so thankful I located the ‘real’ part from Moen. Original install was some time ago and had suffered a bit of abuse and neglect. It was time to change things out. And the job was really quick.Came with plate, screws for plate, handle, screw for handle, washer for stem and cap for handle. It says Moen on both the plate and cap. Simple and classy. I suppose many folks have upgraded to the newer valves, but this classic still works great. And the trim makes all look brand new.You will need to purchase the stop tube separately. Could not find Moen for that piece on Amazon, but the Lasco one was fine.For my needs and my money, this option beats out the serviceable replacement option from Danco.That Danco version, also available from Amazon, was chromed plastic. It did install well enough. And the perimeter gasket seemed well designed. But the center piece snapped in and seemed cheap. The stop tube was a bit short, too - but it still worked.
