Firm bottom cushion, back is a bit softer but still firm enough you don't sink back much. The frame is light enough for one person to move it and it does have metal slats under the seat cushion for sturdy support.Negatives:-Paint scratches pretty easily but can be touched up with the right paint.-The cushions do not have any way to tie or attach them to the base, so you will want something to keep the back cushions from blowing off.Enjoying it enough that it's worth any of the few cons for the low to moderate cost of the sofa.
