This was a purchase where I should’ve spent more for a better product. My middle schooler used this case for a year successfully. Then the carrying handles ripped— and there’s no good way to fix them. The nylon tore. The backpack style straps don’t do any good when he also needs to carry his backpack. We have cobbled together an over the shoulder strap as a temporary work around. Save the money and invest in a case with a higher quality, more secure way to carry it. Disappointing to purchase something with such a limited lifespan.

I like buying things from Mi&Vi, they have a better quality control even if it’s on a similar product.

I like how snug it looks with my full-size violin. My previous case was overdue for replacing after so much wear and tear. My only complaint is how the music sheet pocket can't accommodate more than just a few papers and nothing more. I'm afraid that it would rip the zipper off if you overstuff it with music books for beginners. Overall, I'd say that be the only improvement they could make. Oh, and add instructions too when it comes to opening the lock at the front of the case for the first time. Portability is relative than meets the eye and can make air travel nifty. Consider it a minimalist violin case for the experienced if you travel with only music sheets and not books.

It came with two areas to put a bow, more protected than his last case. It also came with a shoulder rest holder, which was nice. There was a huge area to hold rosin and other things he might need. 10/10

I ordered a new case for my son's 1/4 violin because his last one wore out.The first thing I noticed in this new case is that there is extra space around the violin in the hole that is meant to hold it. His old case had a space that was perfectly sized for the instrument, but not in this one. I figured it didn't matter to have a little extra space because I thought the velcro neck strap would secure the instrument.Well, over the last few months, I began to notice his instrument was falling out of tune worse then it ever had before (and this violin was used by my two older boys when they were little- so it was noticeably out of character for it).And then the bridge was being pushed to the side consistently. Every few times he went to his lesson, his teacher was adjusting his bridge back to center. At first I thought maybe it was just a fluke. Then I thought maybe he was doing something? I watched him carefully as he practiced and carried it. He was always very careful. But the problems persisted. After a few months of his violin falling greatly out of tune almost everytime he pulled it out, and his bridge needing multiple adjustments, it dawned on me that I needed to figure out what was going on. Something wasn't right and it wasn't my son's fault.Upon inspecting his new case, I noticed a dent (pictured above) in the lid right above where his bridge sits.I realized then that the violin has been sliding from side to side inside the case as he carries it, because the instrument isn't securely held by its hole. Because of this movement, the bridge has been hitting the lid so much that there is now a dent. And this has been happening even while being properly strapped in by the velcro fastener at the neck. Meaning that while strapped in, the body of the violin has been swinginglike a pendulum inside the case, hitting the bridge over and over again against the lid. This case is what has been pushing his bridge over to the side and causing his violin to fall severly out of tune. This is a major flaw.I have stuffed a cloth into the extra space to try and secure his instrument while I wait for a new case. For the record, I am 100% sure that his violin is a quarter size. I bought it many years ago from a music shop, who sold it as 1/4 size, and I have recently measured to double check. It is a quarter size violin. This case should be the right size, but it isn't. It clearly has some major design flaws. At $70, it has been an expensive lesson for me to learn. What a shame! It is light weight and a nice shape for carrying a shoulder rest and other items. But if a case doesn't protect, and in fact starts to do damage to the instrument, no perk matters. It is worthless.

Replaced old case. Extra storage in this case that the other didn't have. Like the colors. Super functional and nice quality.
