Works ok but the aluminium threads threaded after two uses. Just finger tighten to be safe is my advice.

Buy it! Made solid and fits the 3.8l motor no problems. Magnet is a beast too so it should collect any gear death that occurs.

This magnetic plug is strong. I have done 3 oil changes (4-5k miles synth) on15 year Toyt n Honda. There is also some "fuzz" on the end (nothing you can feel.... more like graphite... not quite the amount of cotton on Q-tip). It DEFINITELY is grabbing metal circulating in oil before it gets trapped in filter. Allows filter to work better and longer. BUY IT !!

This was used on a 91 sentra with a GA16DE, the threads started easy then got very snug in the second half for a leak-free fit that didnt need to be very tight at all with no fear of it vibrating loose.the magnet sticks up atleast 1/2" into the oil pan to catch particles also, appears to be a very effective design.

I service my own car - I own a Toyota Corolla 1.6 2001 reg (hatchback petrol). This fits perfectly and I really like that the tip is magnetic - you get metal waste stuck to it from the engine oil that passes it so it is nice to see that come out as part of my service. It is a strong little thing and the head is quite large which makes it easy to put a spanner to and turn with leverage! Recommend it. Delivery/packaging - all was very nice.

Let me preface this by saying that I was really looking forward to the benefits of a magnetic oil drain plug.This one, however, is total garbage. This thing is manufactured out of the cheapest, softest metal I've ever seen in a car part. After the second oil change, the threads on this plug completely sheered off. I did not discover this until I was performing the third oil change after installing this.Why is this a big deal? Because somewhere between the second and third oil change, this thing deteriorated to the point that my car was leaking oil like a sieve when being driven. That resulted in the engine running with almost no lubricant, and eventually caused issues with the crankshaft position sensor because the engine was running so rough.Even if this thing were manufactured from durable American steel instead of the cheap Chinese aluminum garbage it is made of, it has serious design flaws. First, the gap between the head and the threading is huge. This means that you will have a very hard time securing your washer in order to form a tight seal. Second, the thing has a ridiculously stupid head size, which means that the wrench or socket you use for a stock oil drain plug won't work. So if you're not a mechanic with a garage full of tools, you'll likely need to go out and buy the socket or wrench needed to remove this damned thing.I may contact Amazon to see if there is any kind of refund that can be issued for this. It sickens me that they get to keep my money for such a shoddy product that nearly caused serious damage to my car and put my family at risk.

Update1: I called Amazon today and explained the mis-marked box that I discovered today after the normal return deadline. The person immediately sent me a return label for this product. OK Amazon - problem fixed.Update 2: 4/23/2014. So today I get another update email on my refund. They are going to charge me return shipping and a restocking fee for this wrong part! I just about blew a gasket. Had to call Amazon up again to tell them this is unacceptable! The cust. service person said he would take care of it and issue another refund for the additional amount I was shorted. I don't have timefor this kind of B.S.! Get your act together Amazon or I'm gone.Update 3: 5/05/2014 Got the re-ordered part - right size this time! Very nicely built part, super strong magnet.Orig. complaint:I ordered one of these for my 370Z. It stated M12X1.25 (fine thread)size. I received the item and it was marked as that size so I figured it was OK. It was NOT OK! The size I found out today is actually M12x1.5 (coarse thread) and does not fit my vehicle. I tried to return it and Amazon says it is no longer returnable. Great. Too bad, looks like a high quality product.
