I've tested a few of these and here's what I look for. This too seems to be another Pocketlink type device though I'm not sure and there is no way to tell before buying.Delay of signal / Color reproduction. These are good on this device, there isn't much of a delay, so if you are doing a demo of an interface but watching through the link, you won't feel a disconnect.Frames Per Second. Usually this isn't a huge thing and it's not here, but it doesn't actually give you 60 FPS, it will connect to the display at 60hz but only send 30 frames per second. Some might notice gaps of where the mouse is. Playing other things (besides video games) you'll probably not notice.Compression. All of these in this category (there are other's for video production but they're several times the price) will recompress your video. All of these so far have used only 20Mhz width 5Ghz wireless channels. There is only so much bandwidth. It's good but if there are scenes with items that usually don't compress well, it will show up. Again, this is not common. The Type C TX device takes power from the host but it does have a passthrough port for power only. Do not that it'll block other nearby ports.

Uses the charging port of your phone, so you can imagine how quickly your batter drains when you try to stream anything to a larger display. Did not work on my television. Worked PARTLY on my laptop to a Promethean (like a smartboard) display in my classroom, but constantly froze. The biggest issue is that it covers the charging port and USB port of my laptop, so again, the only way to use it is with the battery. Aggravating.

Anycast/EZCast style transmitter/receiver. The QR code on the output screen has a link to any-cast site. The manual there refers to this device as the "Mate4", but no branding. The Minix unit seems the same except color/branding.In testing I saw latency around 40-60 milliseconds. Occasionally up to 80. Definitely noticeable in mouse cursor movement.I like the button for quickly turning the output on and off, but I wish it had a more minimal screen for the off state. On Windows and ChromeOS, rotation is handled by maintaining the orientation on the output, and scaling the display to fit. On Linux (Xorg) it didn't seem to get the proper hint for rotation.Range isn't amazing. Signal worked through a couple walls, but fell off quicker than some bluetooth and wireless devices I have used before. On signal loss the output will freeze, but after a timeout it seems to go back to the Minix screen.I tried this with a few different devices (Thinkpad X280, Surface Go, Samsung Chromebook 4), and it worked without issue. It seems to do a good job of copying the EDID from the receiver, but if you set a non-standard resolution it just gets scaled to the output. The receiver only outputs 1080p, 720p, or 480p.The online manual describes connecting to the device's built-in wifi, and you can change a few settings. Not much interesting there though. I could not use the receiver as a standalone wireless display. The transmitter has a power input. It only works as power passthrough for 5V devices. If your device doesn't support 5V charging then it will just power the transmitter. The transmitter gets a bit warm in use. I saw 55°C (131°F) on the plastic case. It draws about 0.33-0.38 amps depending on how much movement is on the display.I only opened the transmitter. The main chips inside were Actions Micro AM8360D, AM9361, and AM9421.

I'm a tech guy. I like my toys and I test a LOT of them. I also present quite often and loath going into a venue unprepared... so many times they have issues with projectors or connectivity. I carry a bunch of cables and such in my bag for this exact purpose. This fantastic device just replaced most of them!I was immediately impressed with the attractive retail packaging. Well designed, informative, and attractive. Inside I found the transmitted (USB-C), receiver (HDMI + USB-A), a nice cloth carry bag, plus instructions and what looks like a cellular SIM tool. I plugged the HDMI cable into my TV and then the USB-A also into the TV (though you could use a power brick if needed, just needs 5V.) Then I plugged the USB-C into my system and BAM! The mirrored picture appeared in seconds. It's crystal clear with about 100 ms delay. No visual artifacts like I've seen with others. Also, the sound works over the wireless HDMI too! Exceptionally easy, literally plug and play. I decided to look at the instructions just so I could review them. It's a small, single-sided sheet that basically says "plug it in". I did discover there is a button on the USB-C transmitted that allows you to disconnect and reconnect (toggle) which worked perfectly. When the picture is off, you get a QR code that links you to a downloadable 27 page manual. (8 pages in English, rest is multilingual. This manual includes MUCH more info, such as reconnecting the transmitter and receiver, more info on the hardware, and troubleshooting steps.)It also provided info on what the SIM tool is for - you can use it to put the receiver into OTA mode, allowing you to update the firmware via direct wireless connection. I didn't try this but it's great to know it exists! I'm SO IMPRESSED with the ease of use and performance of this. Absolutely worth the cost and provides a great value.

This is a good product but only works in certain circumstances and so needs some careful consideration before purchase.Firstly it requires USB-C video output capability on the transmitting device. The dongle connects via USB-C and draws power from the transmitting device on that port too (although you can also plug in a USB-C charging cable too into the dongle).O the receiving side you require a HDMI-in port as well as a USB-A port to draw power from to power the receiver in the HDMI cable end 9whcih is what houses the wireless receiver). These are significant points to note that aren't explained entirely unambiguously and the instructions are not brilliant either.the other major point is that it doesn't matter what resolution your transmitting or receiving device supports this will only transfer 1080p resolution. If transmission/reception is not working check that these resolutions are set (if you have the possibility to change them).Experience of transmitting from Android was good to transfer to a display in the same room (similar to Bluetooth) and delays were pretty good (other similar wireless transmitters I've tried have been similar in terms of delay).Transmission from laptop to external monitor was a bit hit and miss but seems to be OK now generally (with the 1080p limitation).Generally displays are moving away from 1080p to higher resolutions like 4k (and some beyond that) so do consider if 1080p is sufficient for your needs. Projectors may be more relevant but even those are starting to get higher resolutions predominantly. At the current price of £40 it's an elegant solution but relatively pricey and works most of the time. Instructions could do with improving for sure and trouble-shooting is down to youTherefore, 4 stars from me.
