I have always wanted to learn needlepoint; I currently cross stitch. These are small patterns, and they are great for beginners.

Nice variety of patterns, but some are a little hard to follow in black & white. Some of the color symbols are too similar and that makes it hard to read, but overall a lot of fun patterns.

Very thin book. Black and white only except for the front cover. This makes it very hard to tell what each piece will look like when you make it. Most of the designs in this book I have already seen in other books.

rather a boring collection of rugs . most of the materials are not easily available. . . not a worthwhile purchase

I received this today and was very pleased with the content. I've been doing needlepoint since I was a child, so following these charted designs won't be a problem, and imagining what the colors will look like is something I don't need to do, since the colors and size are more important to my projects. This would NOT be a book for a beginner in needlepoint. In fact, I can see where this would be frustrating to a beginner. I'll have a good time with this book, however, and am looking forward to make a few of the designs.

I love needlepoint, it's a friend to me on quiet evenings. The rugs in this book have a range from the very ornate to the hard-to-screw-up simple.

This book contains charted graphs for 37 rugs but contains photos of only 8. I need to be able to see a completed rug design; I can't visualize how a rug will look from the graph alone & for this reason I found the book to be disappointing.
