DA random with both a 5 inch and 6 inch plate. Handle options with an assortment of pads to get going. So far so good.

I could not find what I wanted regarding a smaller random orbital sander for sanding the interior planks on a row boat I am building. I am "sanding" with scotchbrite pad material to rough up the surface of the epoxy coating before I put a finish on it.Some of the planks are less than 5 inches wide, and the 5 inch orbital sander was too big. I tried substituting an oscillating tool triangular attachment, which is a little small, and finding sanding media was difficult and pricey. The "iron-shaped" detail sanders are a little too wide, and also have the difficult/pricey media. All of the other 3" orbital sanders out there seem to be air-compressor driven, which was not my preference. Was really surprised one of the many battery operated tool companies dont offer such a product, but this one seems to fit the bill. It is a bit heavy, but Ill live with that.

Seems good so far dual action works. Idk why people are saying it feels light, it feels like a standard angle grinder. I'd buy it again for the price.

I know other users have reported it as being heavy, I disagree. You can easily use it with one hand. Great speed control. It comes with extra internal brushes. I hope I never have to replace them. I would recommend getting some better quality polishing pads when you order this. You only get an assortment of blue and white which are not a great quality. I would recommend this to a friend.

I recommend this polisher for easy to polish tight areas specially on boats that have rails and gages to maneuver around. Works great for cars headlights

Seems to be built well. I bought this to take with me on the road to keep my Peterbiilt 589 looking sharp. I wanted something compact, so I could easily keep my wheels, tanks, hood trim and steps looking good in between the professional polishing I get done twice a year.Comes with 2in, 3in, and 5in wheels, and all the pads and sponges. 2 size shaft extensions, a U-handle and side post handle. Has a long power cord and variable speed up 2800 rpm. It doesn't feel cheap and has some weight to it.This is not something I would use to cut and polish aluminum due to only going up to 2800 rpm, but buffing with polish to maintain is perfect.Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a storage bag however, I just bought a 15in. KOBALT tool bag from Lowe's keep everything in place.Would recommend š

I bought this buffer to polisher out oxidation on our RV. It did a great job with rubbing compound, polish and wax. I was able to do all three steps in less time and with much better results then just one step by hand. There are some review that this buffer is to heavy and vibrates to much. This is a long through random orbital tool so by default it is going to vibrate. It is a little on the heavy side but I don't think it's over weight. If anything the weight helps with the buffing.

Iām a fairly experienced home detailer & experienced with a DA polisher. This review is for the 3ā & 2ā polishing machine. If you go through the pictures some people are reviewing larger machines. I own DAs from Rupes, Griots, & Porter Cable.Rupes invented the larger stroke DA. Their machines are very smooth, high quality, & expensive. I could never justify the cost of their mini polisher - Iāve been using a Porter Cable 5ā machine with a smaller backing plate for years. I saw this mini machine kit & itās was at a great price ($70). I thought Iād try it. One could argue the pads & accessories that come with this kit would cost > $70 alone if this was a boutique brand detailing company. This machine is comparable & very similar to a Rupes LHR 75E.First the accessoriesā¦The value compared to boutique detailing companies machine is amazing. Everything you need, minus polish/compound is in the box. They even give you a good quality microfiber towel. The machine feels a bit heavier than expected & solid. The external plastics are the quality of brand name power tools. I dunno how long the cord is - but itās very long. Probably 2x the length of other machines. Thatās a nice feature. The on/off switch is a little weird. First I thought it was broken. Itās just really stiff & a bit awkward - but once you figure out how to use it itās fine. I put a little dialectric grease on it & that made it a bit smoother. Speed adjustment has no detents. Itās in the back of the machine. The machine feels good in your hands. Does not feel cheap. You get 2ā & 3ā backing plates & multiple pads. At first I thought the backing plates were a bit wonky because of the shiny rubber on the back - but they are pretty good. They grip the pads very well. If you are cooking pads / backing plate or they are separating you are getting them WAY too hot. Iāve used many over the years & these are of good quality. I put a ton of force down with the machine wide open in these pads & they held up.The foam pads are supposed to be course / fine : blue / white. I can feel no difference between the foam pads other than the color. With the right polish / compound either of the work to remove paint defects just fine. Neither pad is stiff - they both feel like soft polishing pads. However, the wool & polyester (microfiber type) pads that come with this kit cut paint well. The pads are good quality - but you may want to pick up some firm foam cutting pads if you prefer foam like I do.The machineā¦.My fear when ordering this machine is it wouldnāt have any power. On 5 & 6ā larger stroke DAs, copy cat machines often donāt have enough power as a Rupes or Griots. In smaller machines it becomes less critical, because you are spinning smaller pads. It says this machine has a 750 watt motor & that is correct. The 2nd gen Griots machine had a motor in this range & they feel similar in power. That machine is a beast with smaller pads & so is this one. There is tons of power here. The machine easily spins pads well on the lowest setting. If your concerned with power - donāt be. Plenty is here. There is some smart chip of some sort regulating the power, as it takes a second for power changes to kick in. It also feel like the more force you put down on the machine the power kicks up a bit like a Rupes DA. This is called electronic speed control or soft start & is a nice feature I wouldnāt expect at this price point.12mm is the throw Rupes uses for their comparable machine & itās the throw this machine uses as well. Itās a good number. The original DAs had an 8mm throw. 12mm corrects paint better without making the machine feel overwhelming while polishing. As throw goes up, itās harder for any machine to spin pads. Again, there is no issue here. They really specāed this machine out with a motor that even exceeds the need of the machine. The comparable Rupes machine has a 400 watt motor & this thing has a 750 watt motor. With Rupes, I always feel their machines could use a bit more power - I do not feel that with this machine - itās all there.I would actually say this machine is more capable than Rupes due to all the power it has. It also has a back rest, so you can flip the machine over & sit it on a surface without it rolling over. I havenāt tried it yet - but Iām going to say this machine can spin a 5ā backing plate & pads well, as the motor is more powerful than bigger 5ā & 6ā machines. That means get yourself a 5ā plate & this is the only polishing machine you need. The 12mm throw is the sweet spot for almost any type of paint correction & any size pad. That makes this machine an even better value at an unbelievable price. The user experience is very good. Itās smooth. Itās not as smooth as a Rupes. Rupes makes all their parts in house in Italy. You can tell a little less refinement & bit more slop is in the power train here compared to Rupes if you are super picky. However, this machine has 2x the power spec of the Rupes at ~ 1/6 the price if you are looking at it as a kit.Letās compare it to the Griots G8 3ā polisher. That machine is 2x the price & is rated at less power. The quality here feels equal to Griots; but the cord is longer. The cord of this machine is of a high quality soft rubber design, same as Rupes/Griots. Griots gives you no accessories for 2x your money. But, the biggest difference is Griots only has an 8mm throw. 12mm is a significant advantage, especially if you want to put on a larger backing plate. You likely wonāt always need 12mm with smaller pads - but itās been proven over & over again a larger throw corrects paint faster & better.I believe Rupes gives you a 1 year warranty & Griots is lifetime. This machine comes with a 2 year warranty. These type of machines rarely have issues that are not cause by the user & based on the price that is an amazing warranty. You could literally buy 5 of these machines for the price of a Rupes. So, letās call this for what it is. Yes, this machine is a copy of a Rupes LHR75E. Rupes invented & perfected the large throw machine & Griots copied it. So did every other DA manufacturer including Flex. This machine is also a copy. Itās a very very good copy. Itās an improvement actually because of the motorās insane amount of power. It has good ergonomics & feels like a professional machine. The only possible negative I can try to come up with is the foam cutting pads are very soft & not really suited for compounding. This machine could easily sell for 2x the price with no pads or accessories if you slapped X detailing companies name on it so just disregard that. Youāre buying the machine really, pads are consumable & you do get pads that can cut anyway. I would be comfortable buying / reviewing any polishing machine this company makes after using this one. They claim to have been making polishing machines for years. Maybe they manufacture for others & sell under their name or maybe they sell in Asia. Im not sure, but they know what they are doing. This machine exceeded all my expectations.

This has been a great buffer so far; I even purchased a second one, so I don't have to change out backing pads so frequently. Light weight and easy to use for some areas. It has a super long cord on it and comes with a lot of pads. I'm just a beginner so this has been nice to learn on.

I was pleasantly surprised with this tool. It was not expensive but seems quality so far. It has a slow start feature which was a complete surprise. -helps not sling polish everywhere. Plenty of power for any job and even bigger disc. Only downside being that the body is a little heavy, but it is understandable, i guess.I used this on one car already to buff clearcoat in tight spots, and that is really what it is useful for.
