Fermtech Mini 2 Filter Pad Cartidges
Fermtech Mini 2 Filters are disposable, multi-zoned, cartridge style filters perfect for filtering wine with a Mini 2 Wine Flters. Fermtech achieves superior efficiency by being the first to spin different diameters of poly strands on the same filter core to create zones of filtration. The zone closest to the core contains consistent, tight fibers for final filtration while the final outer layer zone is spun with larger fibers for increased sediment holding capacity and increased flow through. The best of both worlds. Note that these are True 10" Filter Cartridges that rely upon the housing being closed tightly in order to engage the Knife Seals & eliminate bypass.
Before use we recommend soaking filter pads in Fermtech Filter Pre Soaking Solution for 3-5 Minutes.
Please note: these filters are not reusable.
#1 Coarse
#1 Coarse (8 micron) filters are the best choice when there is visible sediment in your wine.
A #1 filter will remove almost all visible sediment and is less likely to clog than a #2 0r #3 filter. Best for Fruit/White/Red wines and beer or kombucha.
#2 Polishing
Use a #2 (2 Micron) filter for brilliant filtration when your wine has already naturally settled out.
Too many yeast cells in solution or sediment at the bottom will quickly clog a #2 filter. Best for Red/White wines.
#3 Sterile
#3 are are hard caged , 0.8 micron filters. Ideal for filtering white wine to give it that perfect shine or light red wines.
Wine to be filtered should already be very clear as this filter will load up quickly with material. It is a common practice to pre-filter already settled wine with a #2 filter and then filter with this .#3 Sterile filter. Best for White wines.
