These are well crafted castanets that sound great when played correctly. Herein is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. There were not instructions on setup or use. I had to go online to find instructions on how to use the castanets. That said, once I successfully setup the instruments correctly, I was click, clacking away. These are fun to play with and appropriate for youth on up to play. These are fun percussion instruments to play along to songs. Overall, these are good castanets with a strong resonance for maximum percussion effect.
